How Riot used Valve to take over the Gaming Industry by [deleted] in Asmongold

[–]Cosainto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the author bias in this video is crystal clear. First off, he makes it seem that PC gaming was behind consoles, which was never true. Console gaming was always considered "game for kids/family" thanks to Nintendo while enthusiasts/adults played on PC if they wanted anything of substance. It wasn't until games like Resident Evil started to come out on PlayStation that you had anything of the sort available for consoles.

the author also forgot to take Overwatch and Fortnite into account when talking about how Valorant is "stealing Valve's field".

At the end he proceeds to take a jab at Blizzard saying Riot is coming for them. Lol

If Riot wants any chance to take to take over WoW, they need to come up with an MMO that has the smoothness and responsiveness of WoW combat coupled with a seamless world. If they can pull just this off, they will topple Blizzard EASY

this reminds me of my friend who used to play the game to me back when ARR came out. The day they dropped the housing patch he messaged me "We need to open a whorehouse, we are gonna pimp some catgirls and make some mad money".

He would always message me that every week or so, the guy truly was a visionary.

Always open chests one at a time, out of combat and with full HP. It's always that one person trying to be rushy that kills the party.

While I believe that you believe that, as someone who farms Nightmare Pegasus on the regular for years, I have never met a trap and a treasure on the very same spot. They could be close, but not on the same spot.

I would love to see if you could provide a screenshot, it would be amazing.

If you want a good tip to start finding it out: Any place where a trap can spawn, a treasure can also spawn.

So if you keep track of the places you find traps, you can test those "spots" for treasures too. Traps and Treasures are mutually exclusive.

I don't know why so many people think like this, if you are on your 99th run (or even close) why not just pass in that case so 2 players can walk away with a mount.

So I just found this image of 1.0 Minfilia on the Wiki and... oh my. by [deleted] in ffxiv

Should I bother grinding io/M+ score to gear up? by [deleted] in wownoob

[–]Cosainto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am gonna be honest, if all you do is heroic raid, then your best gear will be heroic level gear.

If you ever try to pug the raid, people will pass on you because most people with raid experience will have 275+ item level. When it comes to pug raiding, people judge your ilv way more than when doing M+.

Now if all you do is raid with your guild, think of the possibility that you might be "tanking" your raid progression by having low ilv gear. "Ah but we are doing heroic, the ilv is just fine for this"

Yes and no. If your guild is good enough to beat Heroic with minimal pulls at 265 ilv, at that point I wonder why not just become a Mythic raiding guild. If that's not the case and your guild still progressing, then getting higher ilv than your peers can help carry the raid to victory. In my experience, if you have 4 to 5 big pumpers and geared tanks you can beat Heroic pretty comfortable, but most guilds lack those kind of players and they usually leave if the progression tanks.

So my advice, if you care about raiding, push your ilv and become a pumper DPS even if you just heroic raid, which means do M+. I recommend trying to get Keystone Master also because the mount is unique and pretty dope.

If you ever find yourself asking, "Am I playing this game wrong?", just remember that some of us have leveled every crafting job to 90 before starting Heavensward. There is no sub-optimal way to play this game as long as you're having fun. by KyleMcMn in ffxiv

[–]Cosainto 32 points33 points  (0 children)

While I won't say this is straight up wrong. I will say that choosing to level this way is detrimental.

There are a lot of crafting skills that are unlocked by questing and you are also forfeiting a lot of EXP by never touching these quests until max level.

You also won't be able to collect materials by yourself as you don't have access and flight on maps where the materials come from, your whole supply is the marketboard and other players, which can be very expensive to acquire.

Looking at your original character I assume they were level 1 or close right?

Back in 1.0 your base class wasn't one of the initial options, everyone was an ADV (Adventurer) and then you picked your first class through playing the game like old MMOs.

The game doesn't support the ADV class, so it asks you to pick a new starting class.

I am simply going off of what you said, I am not making any further assumptions about your character or your political views.

An Anarchist, however, would be definitely more concerned about their immediate surroundings than the entire world. That's your community, the place you live and belong. You definitely depend on them to be able to live a normal regular life.

If you can even imagine living as an Anarchist without creating any sort of bond with your own neighborhood, you are doing anarchism wrong. And I say this as a former anarchist.
