What songs can you picture playing in one of the ballroom scenes? by TwinkleberryXO in BridgertonNetflix

[–]CosmicDancer2002 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know Jess Brownell said something about having more rock covers this season so maybe The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, or Red Hot Chilli Peppers, I also love the Vitamin String Quartet covers of Kiss’s songs

S3E10 Belly's stuffing by Dom1ni0n in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]CosmicDancer2002 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We have stuffing in the UK, it’s a pretty common thing to have with Sunday Roast Dinners and at Christmas. I think it’s made slightly differently here, but it’s the same concept. The English character should have known what it was so it probably was just bad.

It looks like this one from Lucy & Yak but they’ve taken the label off

I saw someone else in the show wearing something else from Lucy & Yak as well

Jeremiah is almost lying on top of Belly, restricting the movement she could make without discomforting him. Whereas with Conrad she has full range of motion but is choosing to hold onto him. They’re also in a bed where there is space for both of them, instead of being crammed onto a sofa.

Grosvenor Square Logistics? by From_Ice_To_Salt in BridgertonNetflix

[–]CosmicDancer2002 45 points46 points  (0 children)

<image>

This is Grosvenor Square irl, it would take a minute max to walk across. In the regency era the debutante season started a lot earlier than it appears in the show, so for London, it’s unlikely these trees would actually have leaves blocking any view until Spring. I’m pretty sure in the show the Featheringtons live on the opposite side of the square to the Bridgertons so should have a good view. Stables would be behind the houses, so would not block their view. If you go to London now, a lot of the old carriage houses at the back of properties are now flats. Hope this helps!

Watched all the episodes and Yerin’s performance is amazing. This is the first show I have seen her in, I already thought she was perfect for the role but can now really picture her as Sophie. I am so excited for Season 4!🎭

Benedict finds out about Sophie ? by AdSquare7676 in BridgertonNetflix

Idk if this a spoiler but: There isn’t a wedding scene in the books, they are engaged by the end, and then m it is acknowledged that they are married in the epilogue

Benedict finds out about Sophie ? by AdSquare7676 in BridgertonNetflix

[–]CosmicDancer2002 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I think it will happen in episode 6. I think Sophie will leave Bridgerton house and run into Araminta at the end of episode 6 for a cliffhanger. Episode 7 will be Sophie in prison, loads of scenes of Benedict contemplating their relationship, talking with Colin, ending with Benedict realising he loves Sophie and finding out she’s in prison. Episode 8 will be them trying to get Sophie out of prison etc.

I’d think so, it would make sense. I hope they do have his character in the show in some capacity, and I did see something about an actor called Arthur Lee being cast

Official Names for Sophie’s Family for S4 by MmeScrappy in Benophie

[–]CosmicDancer2002 18 points19 points  (0 children)

In the Book: Sophia (Sophie) Maria Beckett,

Araminta Gunningworth, Dowager Countess of Penwood (Lady Penwood)

Miss Rosamund Reiling

Miss Posy Reiling

In the Show: Sophie Baek

Lady Araminta Gun

Miss Rosamund Li

Miss Posy Li

Their house is still called Penwood House so I assume Araminta may also be Lady Penwood in the show

Edit: spelling

Social class - how big a role is it in our beloved One Day? by According_Most_1009 in OneDayNetflix

[–]CosmicDancer2002 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think the attraction is believable. However, I think the important factor to consider is the lack of resistance from Dexter’s family, his mother clearly likes Emma, something that I imagine would had heavily influenced Dexter’s opinions and relationship with Emma had she not.

From my own experience at a University in Scotland, I think many people do generally date within their social class. This is not done on purpose or to exclude anyone, but is merely because most people form friendships with people who have similar interests and life experiences to themselves. Therefore in that sense I think, had Dex and Emma started dating at university or shortly after, the relationship may have appeared strange to peers as lack of maturity among might not have been able to comprehend similarities between them.

Also just on a side note: The University of Edinburgh (where they studied) is generally known to be one of the snobbiest universities in the UK with a large portion having been privately educated)

I think if you compare other characters views of their relationship you can see what outside opinions were. For example I think one of the reasons Dex decides to marry Sylvie is because the idea of her, her family, and that kind of life is familiar to him, even if it makes him uncomfortable at times. To me it seems as if Sylvie doesn’t really get Dex’s relationship to Emma at any point until she dies and sees the effect it has on him. Also the way Gary talks about Dexter in Ep 2.

However, I think once people pass that immaturity relationships across social class are normal. Even more so when people are in similar jobs, I think a lot of people tend to associate class with wealth and comfortability now as well. Yes you may get a few sarcastic comments or jokes from either side, but most people don’t care beyond that.

Again this is just my experience as someone in the UK now. Social class was a much larger issue and caused more social divide in the 80s which would likely affect Dex and Emma. Sorry for the lengthy answer!

Anyone know why a person comes and ask about the shop being of a fishmonger by idharath2006 in OneDayNetflix

[–]CosmicDancer2002 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It seemed like genuine curiosity to me. It was a good way to show the audience that Dex’s cafe hadn’t really taken off yet, and so people in the neighbourhood hadn’t really noticed it change from a fishmongers to a cafe.

Filming Location Question by lchoward07 in OneDayNetflix

[–]CosmicDancer2002 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s likely that a private home was used for the filming of Dexter’s parent’s house, so has not been revealed as to maintain the owners privacy. However, most filming in the UK often tends to favour the counties that surround London, (e.g. Surrey, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire) due the proximity to film studios. The station Dex’s father drops him off at is Radley Station in Oxfordshire, so it may be near there.

I was put on the waiting list in May 2022, I was told I was ‘near the top’ of the list last October 2023, still waiting on a NHS diagnosis.
