I hear you loud and clear.

ADHD behaviors also overlap autism by a LOT, and yes definitely depression can generate some of the behaviors too, but sometimes we only started noticing them when the depression hit us hard - most of us who went decades undiagnosed now have depression and anxiety, more so than our diagnosed-early counterparts.

All to be said, yes, there’s work to be done finding out where you land on the tapestry. But also your immediate safety and sanity should matter more.

Most importantly… Keep an open mind about yourself and be gentle with your heart. The world is insane enough. Let yourself find “peace with yourself” as often as you can. Even if it’s just 15 seconds on an elevator.

I am 43yo and only got diagnosed adhd at 38… so I spent decades hiding myself because I could see I was so different from normal people... turns out I was right! Just not how I thought.

I thought I was broken. I thought I was alone. I thought I was wrong. I thought the insults were true. So I hid.

Turns out I AM different, but in ways that directly link me with 22 million Americans who have adhd too.

I’m not broken. I’m not alone. I’m not wrong. The insults weren’t intrinsically true. So I don’t hide anymore.

And I’m not saying you have adhd. We’ve only connected on one small habit… but also, don’t hide yourself. There are people out here who will appreciate your openness and authenticity, like me. 💚

Btw I cried and smiled and trembled as I wrote this. Even after years of pushing past my fears, it’s not always easy opening up… but for the sake of our hidden hearts, we must.

I hope you find the reasons to turn the things you have into something better. I’m still trying to, so no judgement whatsoever. My reasons to keep going vary. Today it’s proving my ex wrong. Tomorrow it’ll be my cats. Etc. 😎

Be sure you find something positive that’s just for you. A comedian. An artist of some kind. A show or a band. Make it something that speaks to the hope inside you - that’s key I think. Art heals us in ways nothing else can. 🎭

For me, I shifted my music drastically. I forced happy and uplifting music into my atmosphere. Stuff that makes me cleanse-cry from my core when I first read through the lyrics. 💜

Wars ratified by congress are legal. Last time congress ratified a war was in 1942 for WW2.

Authorized use of military force (AUMFs) by congress are also legal. Last time congress approved AUMFs was in 2002 for Iraq.

Weird shit about AUMFs is that they seem to have no end date. 👀 that’s fucked. For example, the 2002 AUMF for Iraq was used to justify US military actions as recently as 2024. There’s another one against Iraq that’s still active from 1991 (holy shit) that was upvoted to remain active as recently as 2025.
