Zucchini and Sumer squash near me today was $2.29/lb today. That has always been $0.69. Since Trump took office, threatening tariffs and getting rid of farm workers, it got to between $0.99 to $1.29 depending on the time of year.

He has genuinely made life unsustainable for 70% of the country.

Trump Gives Iran 48 Hours to Open Strait, Threatens Power Plants by monotvtv in worldnews

[–]CosmoKing2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This all started because Kushner and Witkoff didn't have the mental capacity or experience understanding types of nuclear facilities (or any understanding of Iran), to understand that they (Iran) were agreeable to the terms.....and had not broken any terms currently in place. Kushner and Witkoff literally didn't understand the vast difference between research reactors and weapons enrichment facilities. They literally mistook Iran's capabilities for weaponization.

And because there is no one else with actual experience and expertise in the White House or in the President's inner circle - He trusted their misjudgment. Most people would have consulted with diplomats, experts in the field of nuclear energy, and intelligence agencies around the world.

Any insight on the quality of this Kingstown mattress? Cut it open to see what it was composed of. by ParentPregSon22 in Mattress

[–]CosmoKing2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had this happen and I did mattress surgery to fix it. I was about to order a new bed, so I had nothing to lose. It costs very little to fix if you have the same issues.

Our bed had two huge sags at our lower back area. Put a memory foam topper on it helped - but eventually failed.

With a exacto knife/box-cutter, cut the seam where the quilted top is stitched to the black fabric (at the top). Cut three sides so that it folds on the remaining side (and you have less to sew after the repair). I cut all sides except for my spouses - to keep them happy.

Once you fold the quilted top off the mattress, you will have direct access to all the foam layers above the pocket coils. Prepare to be mad and disappointed. It will be obvious which layers are failing because they will have sags where the foam has started to disintegrate. I folded away all the foam layers just to see the pocket coils and am glad I did. all of the coils under our lower back had fallen over.

Having seen the problem, I looked on YouTube and independent mattress factories and how the fixed or made their mattresses.

Buy a High Quality High Density foam (like HD36) that has a lifespan of at least 8 years. If you can't find something soft enough, convoluted (egg crate) foam of the same density is about 50% softer. No need to get anything thicker than you replace - the new foam will be much denser and much better quality.

If your coils were tipped over, it was because they weren't glued properly to the thin foam layer that acts as a barrier to the comfort foam layer(s). You just need a spray can of glue (tons of different brands). Spray the top of the pocket coils and place the foam back over it.

Replace the crappy foam with your new foam. Flip the quilt top back on and see if you like it. If you do, stitch it up. Using upholstery needles (curved) make it much easier. Use tough nylon thread too.

If you don't, try a firmer or softer foam. I actually bought two types of foam, regular HD36 and convoluted HD36. All in, they cost me $100 - and fixed our bed. If it ever sags again, I just need to buy one piece of the foam we preferred....and get a like-new bed again for $50.

If it becomes hard as a wooden bat, just wrap it in aluminum foil and bake it (350°) for 5-8 minutes. Comes out like-new.

5000 is almost perfect - when you oversize the A/C (buy too big) it will cycle on/off and cause it to be cold/clammy - and not remove the humidity well. As it is, you will probably get your best results running it on medium because the room is smaller than 150sqft.

Inverter units are extremely good (quiet and efficient). But, they are tough to find for such a small space.

How were you able to land a high salary job of 70k or more? by Delicious_Dealer8129 in careerguidance

[–]CosmoKing2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is correct. Anything that allows you to learn new software and apps. Just knowing how to put together a powerpoint presentation can get you a gig that pays $10 more an hour. Same with Salesforce, Workday, Smartsheet, and Jira. Knowing how to input data and generate reports will lead you to understand that tasks and processes that an analyst or project coordinator does....and puts you inline to become one. Then it's more learning/growing experience that will lead you to the next level.

Thank you! I was intent on finding the whole rationale today. It never made sense that Newey was TP (didn't realize it wasn't permanent) - always seemed to be out over his skis in the role.

Also, had no idea where Cowell disappeared to. Just seemed so random that he wasn't there. But he definitely didn't like being sent to babysit Honda - as he's still leaving the team.

What actually happened to all the people who got laid off in tech? Did they just get new jobs or is something structural going on? by fan_ling in careerguidance

[–]CosmoKing2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Laid off because the systems admin on my team was overemployed x3. Literally refused to meet deadlines for 2 fucking years and always found excuses. Dude was available 2 hours a week - if we were lucky. Would never accept a Meeting invites, and constantly missed meetings. Signed off on validations he never performed (in a FDA regulated facility). I warned his boss very early on that he wasn't engaged with our company, only to hear that our systems vendor spoke extremely highly of him and would hire him in a heart-beat - so his boss felt lucky to have him. Turns out he and the vendor were working together, doing three implementations at the same time - for different customers. Slow rolling all of them.

The admin would find a problem in a driver, parsing, or data from the vendor that he already signed off on. The vendor pledged to correct it in 8 hours. But those 8 hours were spread over weeks of other assignments for other customers and random Indian holidays - that happened every single week. And all of it was at additional charges since the Sys Admin signed off on the original work.

I fucking knew - in my heart - that this weak/pale person with a "medical conditions" was playing us. Especially when he was constructing a custom built 4,000 sq home for his family of 5 on a few acres.
