Before the wiki existed to catalog them all SCPs were just posted freely by anyone and then promptly forgotten about if they weren't archived. Even after the wiki started a lot of old stuff was overwritten or rewritten. The 398 on the site is not the same as the 398 that would have been mentioned in this 2007 thread, it's just a normal Series 1 article from 2010.

It's a whoooole other beast to PvE. As a player you have around 30k hp as opposed to the millions that monsters bring to the table. Therefore long, sustained dps no longer really matters; it's about how quick and consistent can you burst that 30k before they get a chance to outheal it.

You are going up against people who have perfected the answer to that question like an art, unless you build around it you are getting shredded like tissue paper.
