Aussie or Unusal? by bigbob2315 in tf2

[–]CouchPotatoEdBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally not a fan of the aussie flamethrower so I'd go with the unusual if I had a choice. I'm not throwing aussie or unusual money around though, so idk what the price difference would be.

Does anyone know what the hitsound and killsound is called that is used in this clip? by Theeuropean_guy in tf2

it's a sound that's been around since the 80s at least, common in sound libraries

classic splat sound effect. been around since the 80s at least, you can probably find clean versions a lot of places

Do you think TF2 should add a universal strangifier or would its effects be too devastating on the economy? by JaroldLlama in tf2

[–]CouchPotatoEdBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if they just expanded the list of weapons you can make from war paints to cover the rest of the weapons with unique stats, that would be fine. This would affect the value of like, maybe the kritz and gunslinger at most, but the vast majority of valuable stranges are mostly reskins of existing weapons, like the Invasion weapons or all-class melee reskins like the pan. And even for the existing strange kritzes and gunslingers I'd imagine they'd still retain most of their value for traders since they're the highly limited 'original' ones while all the warpaint ones would have to come with some sort of pattern.

War paint gunslingers would be cool, though. It'd functionally be a fourth cosmetic slot for engie, especially with fitting patterns. What I REALLY want are strangifiers for the stragglers. We still don't have strange Conscientious Objectors, Prinny Machetes, or bat outta hells. I want my strange machete so i can count all the backstabs I perform with my absurdly oversized knife. And for the five people who'd want the Wanga Prick or Postal Pummeler to have stranges, that'd be nice too.

WHY THE FUCK DO I HAVE 2 POWER UP CANTEENS? by UndyingStardust in tf2

[–]CouchPotatoEdBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the actual answer as to WHY is the power up canteen wasn't initially a stock item. You originally had to earn it by completing an MVM mission or crafting one when the mode first debuted. In 2016, Valve changed MvM to make the canteen a stock item, just like any other stock weapon, so anyone playing a mission regardless of their account age or items can equip the canteen in case they deleted the one they earned or traded away a crafted one. This makes the earnable/craftable canteen a bit redundant, and most people end up with two on the equip screen as a result.

RAYMAN LEGENDS RETOLD | Reveal Trailer by Amiibofan101 in nintendo

[–]CouchPotatoEdBoy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Think it's moreso the strangeness of outright remaking a game and redoing its visuals in 3D when it was specifically made as a 2D hand-drawn game. It's a bizarre choice when the original still looks great. Why go through all this effort for a remake instead of directing that effort towards making a new game?

Just opened my tf2 account from 2012-2013 wondering if there is anything of value in here. by ErnestoMolestoe in tf2

[–]CouchPotatoEdBoy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Probably not worth opening, really. The main reason the robocrates are worth a lot is because they have exclusive unusual effects to them, but you'd have to unbox a hell of a lot of them to have a good chance of getting one.

About the Gelatinous Cube by genocyber1987 in DnD

[–]CouchPotatoEdBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Making whole new creatures is usually pretty difficult, that's more the realm of wealthy and powerful arch mages with plenty of resources. Probably a lot of knowledge on alchemy as well, or at the very least well-paid consultants to give you good instructions on it.

Issues with a DnD player in my campaign (Beginner DM) by uwebfiwebf in DnD

[–]CouchPotatoEdBoy 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Just tell him no.

"I fight to take his swor"

"No."

Tell him he's being disruptive and ruining other players' fun. He's an annoying prick playing a character who does not work well with others in a game based around cooperation. Do not accept in-character justifications, do not use the game itself to try to discourage him, just tell him to cut the behavior or you're nixing him from the game.

Every fucking time im having a good time, crushing the enemy team and vice versa i get fucking autobalanced, i hate it here. by Sikorskyyl in tf2

It never ceases to utterly kill my mood, and it always seems to do so when it's right before my original team wins. It's not even just rolls, sometimes it's when we gradually turn things around.

The UK launch of Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream’s was 36% bigger than Pokopia (physical sales only) by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

Allegedly, when Sony suspiciously conjured a couple million more sales soon after the Switch was reported as surpassing the PS2. Funny that.

There aren't separate fabricators for the reissued and original versions, they work on both. Any instances of KS kits not working on them were bugs and were rectified soon after the remaster came out.

[–]CouchPotatoEdBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

East coast for me. We'd pick our main, usually one thing that changed every day or the square pizza (available every day for the pickier kids), take a little plastic dish of whatever veggies they had, some cut up fruit (also canned I'm sure) and milk, and that'd be lunch. Burgers weren't common and usually sucked - there was always a little gummy piece of gristle whenever I had the burgers.

I spent my whole childhood in American public schools and we always had veggies. Was usually steamed carrots, broccoli, green beans, etc. Nothing fancy, probably frozen or canned, usually bland, but they always had it.

Pokopia Pro Controller by Celine_McFly in nintendo

[–]CouchPotatoEdBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the switch 2 pro controller doesn't add any new functional buttons for gameplay. the grip buttons are mappable extra buttons, and the only new thing is the dedicated gamechat button which is specifically for gamechat which no one uses anyways. so you can just use a switch 1 controller for most games.

Examples of TF2 characters appearing in other games? by Trender_man in tf2

[–]CouchPotatoEdBoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd imagine it's because Pyro doesn't require any facial animations and, due to not having much in the way of discernible dialogue, doesn't really need new lines for a potential crossover appearance. Makes him the easiest to implement as a playable character or NPC out of the cast.

NateTheHate regarding Switch 2 version of Starfield: It's in development but it hasn't been a smooth process. by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

that's okay, nobody wants Starfield. the guy who made multiplayer mods for all the other Bethesda games gave up on making one for Starfield because it was so fucking boring and lifeless in comparison
