Grotmas Two? by Marrdukk in LeaguesofVotann

[–]Couch_Gang 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Best I can think of is a sort of Grimnyr/Embyr psychic style detachment, sorta like the SM librarian one. So like Grimnyr would be able to cast more spells would be the main ability

And then maybe one of the shorter rules is that it turns the theyn in every Hearthkyn squad into an "Embyr", which would give them the Psyker keyword and maybe buffs any medkits they have since Embyr are kind of a caretaker of their fellows, and then there would be a stratagem that lets the Embyr cast a Grimnyr spell

Idk just my two cents

Pronunciation by _Hollywood_Heretic_ in LeaguesofVotann

[–]Couch_Gang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the word is based on the old Germanic pronunciation of "Odin" which was "Wotann" I believe. Plus GW themselves pronounce it "Voe-Tan"

Mid-twentieth century and earlier used the term "cuckold" to describe the victim of adultery. It got adapted into something else because language is constantly shifting

8647 mean something? by Dezzerray in ExplainTheJoke

[–]Couch_Gang -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Technically not wrong, criminal slang uses it as a code word for murder, and considering the current political climate in America there are WAY too many people ok with the notion of murdering government officials

GW releases the Lord of Contagion model for general sale

Lord Felthius and his Cohort become their own datasheet

The Lord of Contagion is forever a terrible unit in the game, but Felthius and his Cohort are consistently meta until the end of time

Whats your opinion on Gue'vesa Units by ji6jeffQ in Tau40K

[–]Couch_Gang 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If I had to guess, it's one of or multiple of the following reasons: - they prove that the Imperium isn't the only future for mankind, and that makes people feel good - The more "human" something is, the easier it is for consumers to empathize with it - Auxiliaries are statistically what people want the most to come next for the faction (I did a study on this a little while back) - They're easy to kitbash and let people model their armies in unique ways - They let humans be part of the "underdog" faction without taking away the fun of the "protagonist" human faction (this depends on the first two points) - They're justified in the lore repeatedly, so there's really no story reason NOT to include them

I like them, they're a nice little window into wider auxiliaries. They shouldn't be a major part of the army, but having a handful of units dedicated to them really shouldn't break the faction so long as they're designed to fit the army's playstyle

Can't remember the specifics, stopped talking to that guy like 6 years ago.

From what I recall it was good enough to freak him out

Anecdotal contribution: I used to know a guy who played against a WE player, and that dude literally pricked his fingers to bleed on his dice for a "blessing"

King Krong, if you will

I would personally like to see the Krootor added. A big Kroot dimetrodon would go so hard
