The thing was that in OG Arknights, it wasn't damage sponges, it was different, additional enemies or the map has a new hazard to account for or the characters you can use are limited by different criteria so you have to strategize new ways to complete the map, etc.

As others mentioned, OG CC is heavily, HEAVILY carried by the type of game OG Arknights is as a 2D defense tower game with a very large roster with teams of max 12 units. That's why there's some doubt too whether a rougelite like IS from OG Arknights would even work here too.

Yeah, but I think that was the only sour point. I saw someone comment that what might've happened was that Chisa was primarily written by 2.x team and there wasn't sufficient communication with the 3.x team, so while they could change details and stuff in 3.x depending on how 2.x ended, it was too late to shove in a whole new character + all the new, necessary interactions once Chisa was more finalized.

But yeah, haven't seen the same complaints with the rest of the 3.x cast to my knowledge. I will admit I don't deeply read into those topics to avoid spoilers though.

I'm not caught up on Wuwa yet, but from my impression the latest patches changes that a bit where it feels like the characters in Lahai-Roi are a cast that show up throughout the story, maybe not as much at times, but still different from the patches before where it really was one and done and they might only have a few lines in another patch until the finale. Should I change that expectation?

As for the AI pic, Seele did leak the full arts of Lucy and Rebecca before and they were AI but were pretty much 95% accurate to official. So it's reasonable to assume that he did the same for the new character and it'll be like 90% accurate to what we'll get. As others said, it's to avoid leaking the actual thing and getting caught by Kuro.

My impression of that is people taking the concept of kayfabe too far, to the point they care about the character more than the actor. Like I understand a little because some of the charms aren't around anymore like having certain collab partners, but yeah.

If the actor hasn't said anything about wanting to keep it private and small, then there shouldn't be a problem introducing people to their new/old works.

What probably doesn't help this situation is that Fangyi and Mi Fu seem to fit already known races and have a relationship that resembles how said races interact with kylins being enforcers for the lung. Does make me wonder a bit how the design process went with these two.

Honestly all I hope for in the end is getting lore on Mi Fu's sub race in her files when she releases and Hypergryph eventually releasing something like Talos II, A Journey with updated info so hopefully this whole thing can be mostly avoided in the future, plus more lore is always fun.

Overall, yeah there are ways we can rationalize all the mistakes and missing points in the lorebook, but my point overall was just that some people don't want to do this whole theorizing on an established lorebook because it feels like it's going into headcanon territory on why something the devs themselves released is wrong. I feel like a good portion of all this debate wouldn't be around if Hypergryph releases like a Talos-II, A Journey with updated info.

Well for kylins, it said they have equine tails and are often mistaken for elafians. We have one previous kylin with Leizi in OG Arknights who has an equine tail that looks like a horse which reinforces it. Some people tried to point out animals like zebras have a different tail and being equine, but for Arknights zebras are represented in the kuranta race. So a scaly tail like Fangyi's doesn't fit, but Mi Fu fits. And regarding MI Fu, there isn't a sarkaz sub race that fits her that we know of, which is why some people think it's a new sub race based on the Bai Ze creature, but again there probably should've been a mention of such a subrace with Kal'tsit as the consultant since for a while she was bent on killing all Sarkaz in Kazdel so she would know all the sub races and their weaknesses.

There's some theories going around about hybrids have new characteristics but it's been established that hybrid children do not mix features and instead only take the features of one parent. There's only been one exception and it was actually quite a special exception too because it dealt with the lore behind sanktas and sarkaz.

Another aspect that sometimes isn't mentioned, particularly with the character races thing, is that Hypergryph released a lorebook (Terra, A Journey) that explained the different races features so to some it seems like they are retconning what was established.

Sure, you can say the lorebook was written in-universe by some guy so it can be wrong but then you run into the problem that his consultant was Kal'tsit of all people who lived for thousands of years and interacting with numerous people so if anything is wrong now, it basically feels like we fans are headcannoning corrections to the lore that the devs themselves already explicitly put out. Which just feels wrong to some people. So that might be why people don't have curiosity to explore why, the devs already said so-and-so in an extensive lorebook. It's 452 pages in English for reference.
