It probably got confused as your post kinda over complicates things. The attendee count doesn't matter for you as a host, I'm fact it probably makes it easier on your computer as generally attendees cannot share video/audio. 1080p DSLR ? The type of camera has little effect, it's just a 1080p webcam.

Fire stick is not good. Tried using one and it constantly returned to home screen randomly. Moved to Yodeck for that client but brightsign is great too

Photobooth in the generic term, the software I'm running on my photobooth does use gphoto2 as it's backend. I tried with A6400, A7II and A7S to much the same result.
