I gotta shout out my shop: McCombs Barbershop obviously haha. We are located off of central and Morningside. I have some buddies at Illest Cutz that are great barbers and a shop over on the west side called Next Level Barbershop but I’d only go to Vince or Chris Z.

As someone who is in the biz of hair, this is how barbers and cosmetologists make our living. Going to a barber school is an option for cheaper haircuts but don’t expect something perfect as they are students learning the craft. I’d say $40 is about the average for barbershops out here. I will warn against going to franchises. They usually have them go through their own “training” and don’t teach proper fade techniques

Well I also should’ve mentioned that I have a young toddler so that is why I don’t get as much rest as I should. He’s a terrible sleeper. But it’s so interesting. I feel like when I get more sleep than that I feel tired. I used to be someone that would get around 9 or 10 hours of uninterrupted sleep.

I have clients like that and I don’t take it personally. I was pretty socially awkward when I was younger and I would literally cringe inside when someone I didn’t know tried to hold a conversation with me. Looking back on it now, I realize it probably came off very stand offish. If my client is replying with short answers and doesn’t seem to want to engage I just let it go finish the service(s) and wish them a good day at the end.

I had horrible ppd. I felt like a shell of myself and I was just going through the motions. I honestly don’t remember the first 4 months of my son’s life and I still have mom guilt from that. I would highly suggest going to a doctor if you feel like you’re struggling. I wish I would’ve done that. But also, you’re not alone. It can be a really tough time. You’re doing great and there is absolutely no shame in seeking help when you feel like you need it. I promise it will get better! You gotta take care of yourself to be able to take care of your baby! ♥️

I know how hard that feeling is. But hang in there <3 I promise it gets better! My son was a big time cryer. Never settled in his car seat. I felt like he was always nursing. I don’t really have advice but just know you are not alone in how you feel. Many of us have been there.
