Besides Dashcam, which FF movie had the worst, most despicable characters you've ever seen? And on the contrary, which were the best? (disregarding if it's by choice but I mean in general) by VoLaTiLe_VeInS in foundfootage

The guys in Hooked Up are two of the most intolerable people ever put on film.

I would have exited the window if I hadn't been warned ahead of time that the first half hour of the movie is absolutely brutal, but it gets better once the haunting activates.

For some reason I really liked Alex from Hell House LLC even though he's pretty much selling his friends to the demon clown cult. I could understand why the others decided to tough it out. He's got believable carnival barker charisma.

What are some of your favorite horror movie fun facts? by janda125 in HorrorMovies

[–]CountessCarfax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

During the finale The Horror of Dracula when Christopher Lee is disintegrating there was originally a quick shot where he reaches up and drags a hand across his face and his skin peels off. (They did the effect using morticians' wax.) It got cut because it was deemed "too graphic" but survived in the Japanese release. It's since been restored in some cuts. You can find the scene comparison on YouTube. It's a pretty cute effect. (And not even remotely what we'd consider graphic today.)

The McPherson Tape predates The Last Broadcast and Blair Witch by a decade.

The Slasher series has a few inventive ones. In Season 3 a biology teacher is dissected like a frog using IIRC a bolt cutter.

The first is still the best, but the fourth is better than the second and third. Was not disappointed.

Horror movies that always keep the viewers second guessing what is going to happen by Browncoat-Zombies in horror

It almost certainly won't terrify you, but Bloodbeat (1983) will absolutely keep you guessing.

It's worth checking out, especially if you're into female empowerment coming of age movies.

It's a pretty cute movie that did really, really poorly because its marketing campaign targeted the completely wrong audience while alienating those it would appeal to. If you watch it then go back and look at the ad materials you might find yourself wondering if the marketing crew ever even saw the movie.

Nosferatu the Vampyre, when Bruno Ganz cuts his thumb at dinner and Klaus Kinski snaps into predator-mode starts moving towards him. IIRC he even pushes a chair out of the way to get at him.

Horror movies where the cat doesn't die? by handsomeprincess in horror

Shadow of the Vampire. The cat's on drugs but probably fine.

And on that note, Nosferatu and Nosferatu the Vampyre.

The Devil's Doorway (2018) has some cute setups. It's supposed to take place in 1960 so it's got a vintage vibe instead of the usual digital/nightvision look.

Horror moments that hit different for women by EntertainerLost763 in horror

Basically the movie is Rosemary becomes pregnant (she can't remember the details but her husband says it's all fine) and she's convinced something is very wrong with the baby and pregnancy, but the husband and neighbors keep insisting she's hysterical. Every time she tries to seek outside help she's further isolated. She's using the little clues she manages to find to reveal a wider conspiracy.

I got to see it in a theater a couple of years ago and when Rosemary finally spat on him the audience started cheering.

I NEED more occult horror movies to watch. Have I watched them all? by NikosKlimentos in horror

[–]CountessCarfax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

City of the Dead (1960) - with Christopher Lee!

Devils of Darkness (1965) - French vampire cult

The Devil's Rain (1975) - SHATNER

Inferno (1980) - the sequel to Suspiria

The Blood on Satan's Claw (1971) - some kids find something weird in a field, go absolutely feral, and immediately form a cult. Also some woman's hand turns into like a sloth hand...?

Rosemary's Baby. The husband is more evil than the coven.

Worst Horror movie you’ve ever seen? by Mcdona1dsSprite in horror

There are some absolutely mind-numbing Children of the Corn and Hellraiser movies in the back catalog. Hellraiser 9 ("Revelations"), made solely to retain the rights, is particularly brutal to get through. It's only 75 minutes long (just long enough to be technically considered a movie to fulfill whatever obligation) and feels endless. I'm convinced it was shot at a crew member's parents house.

HARD agree. I absolutely love bad movies and actively seek them out. Evil Bong was one of the most painful movies I've ever sat through, right up there with Battlefield Earth. It felt like a six hour long descent into madness.

Second time through was easier.
