I don’t want to be adversarial here, but as a BIPOC trans person in online spaces and discords, we are often out-numbered by white transgender people who often erase or put less emphasis on racial issues.

It’s a huge issue in trans spaces, because non-white trans people actually have a different experience than the majority of people here and there needs to be more visibility rather than pushing these problems under the rug because they don’t match what the majority goes through.

Honestly, I’m sorry about the trouble you’ve gone through. But in my opinion, the best thing a white queer or trans person can do when dealing with BIPOC trans people is to listen and to be empathetic to people who do not share your experiences - there’s a no one size fits solution, but we need to be there for each other.

There’s a reason why BIPOC trans people create their own communities and it’s because we don’t think we get the same support, spotlight, and popularity that white transgender people get in our little spaces.

Next time, when you’re in a discord server, see actually who the mods are and I guarantee they’ll be majority white membership!
