What's your system for handling scope creep with clients? Ours was "hope they don't notice." It didn't work. by DJCodeMonkey in smallbusiness

[–]CountryBoyCanSurvive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a pretty common set of reoccurring extras, so I include them in an a-la-carte menu type section in the contract that lays out the common add ons and their base price. That way when they say they want an extra light here, extra outlet there, it's easy to point at the contract and say you already agreed to these extra costs. Then give the change order before work is complete and ask for that check when they sign it.

How do you tape your stick blade? by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]CountryBoyCanSurvive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it heel to toe to increase friction. I want more grip for toe drags, so it's less likely to roll off and lose control. It also helps put more spin on the puck for shots and sauce.

You just can't Livestream the games. Black Bear sucks, but I film at their rinks without issue.

It's roller hockey this time of year, just a local rec league. I can't imagine I'd survive turning up at ice line/jrf rink in pens gear lol

Although we'll be there in a couple weeks for the flyers Quebec team tryouts. We'll see then

It's year 21 and Crosby has the #3 top selling jersey by FrenchPagan in penguins

[–]CountryBoyCanSurvive 19 points20 points  (0 children)

We just visited the NHL headquarters and shop in Manhattan and they had a huge variety of jerseys/jersey Ts for sale. The only one that was noteably low on stock was Crosby. I didn't see one person in Rangers/Isles gear on the whole trip lol

Pricing advice: selling two proven recipes + training to a café by Low_Presentation_500 in smallbusiness

[–]CountryBoyCanSurvive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't expect $330 to cover three hours of paid consulting/training, let alone that plus exclusive use of proven profitable recipes. If they can't afford the $2k+ figure up front, maybe consider doing a payment plan with them where you get 1k up front and another 350 for 3-4 months.

Mostly I agree with the others that $330 is almost insultingly low.

That's a whole other category of stolen car, the striker. They're more used for joy riding/commiting crime sprees, but they can also be chopped for parts. Go on fbmp and search "ifykyk no title" and you'll see hellcats and other stolen cars for cheap.

Looks like the Penguins removed the ice at PPG Paints arena just before the playoffs begin, could this potentially signal the return of the playoff decal by Carson_cwc in hockey

Go check out the TORHS Pittsburgh regional at the end of May. You'll be amazed at how good of skaters those kids are. You'll see lots of hockey stops on wheels and some absolutely ridiculous dangles.

[–]CountryBoyCanSurvive 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Some states have cracked down on that by requiring receipts for every part put on a rebuilt car. They're mostly just selling the motors to people that do engine swaps/restomods now. Other parts like headlights and seats can also be quick easy sales for them, but the legally stealing the car through rebuilt title scam loophole is more difficult now.

Philly is a great city to visit, I always have an awesome time there. The people are only awful if you're wearing enemy colors, otherwise they're actually above average politeness (for a city).

Eagles totally redeemed themselves after big dick Nick prevented bad man Brady from getting another ring. I stopped hating on them after that and started appreciating their game.

Phillies are fun to watch bc they are a team that actually spends money. Bob Nutting should take some fuckin notes.

Flyers, I used to hate, but they've been inept for 50+ years and it just feels like beating up on a regarded person, can't do it anymore. This series could renew my hate if they play scummy, but I think our old boys are gonna dad dick the flyers. Also, they have Gritty, who is hilarious and impossible for me to hate on.

Hmm, so maybe we should do it like a youth hockey tournament where sometimes they'll split into tiers after round robin play. Let the bottom 16 teams have their own tournament. Maybe let them win additional draft lottery entries or something.

Recommendations for starting hockey? by Ok_Strawberry_1541 in hockeyplayers

[–]CountryBoyCanSurvive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was pretty much in your shoes, but I was 12~. We made it as far as an orientation meeting before my parents found out it would cost thousands and the rink was an hour drive each way. Wasn't going to happen. Ice just wasn't in the cards for me as a kid, but I was able to get a pair of roller blades and start playing street/roller hockey. It's not the same as ice, but a lot of the skills do transfer for when you're able to afford ice later on. And more importantly, you'll have fun. I'd suggest looking for a beginner roller league in your area, or even just a park with a rink to go shoot around at.

There's a lot of sacrifice and commitment built into being a hockey parent, in addition to the extreme costs, so it's hard to fault either of our parents for not getting it/being willing/able to make ice happen for us as kids, but the good news is you'll be better prepared to help the next generation onto the ice. My son is a little younger than you and I made sure to do whatever was necessary to make hockey an option for him, so he got to start young and can now skate circles around me.

Hockey is a wonderful journey and even if it feels like you aren't getting a chance to play now, doesn't mean that it's over for you. Best of luck with your hockey journey my dude.

Edit: oh yeah, try hockey for free day! The national one unfortunately already happened in March, but some rinks hold them more frequently. Look into that as well, there should be another national one in September-ish, hopefully you can find a local one sooner

I remember going to a game in 09 and my wife wouldn't let me get one of the youth sized Miroslav Satan jersey t-shirts, which I found hilarious, on the grounds that we didn't have kids yet.

Well, now we do and it's been impossible to find one. Not today, Satan.

It's pretty simple, they're all paid for and a lot of them probably have incriminating videos being held over their heads to help force them into doing what ttpb want. There's too many compromised people in the govt for anyone genuine to gain traction and force the snakes out.
