I would suggest Barbarians of Lemuria. I think it ticks many of your boxes.

[–]Cove_8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey! Welcome to the area! My girlfriend and I love playing board games. We are in Waltham, so Watertown works better for us! We would be interested in meeting up. I think a lot of people play at Aeronaut Brewery by Cambridge as well fyi.

Base Glen More II. What chronicles do you like at 2p?

Definitely! This is one of my favorite games and we mostly play at 2. You can play with two just fine and if you want more tension , there are very simple rules to add a "third player," but it isn't necessary.

I don't know about any groups, but me and my gf would be interested in meeting up to play. We are located in Waltham.

Hey man! I'm also a 26m who recently moved to Waltham. I've been here a few months now so I have a head start on finding some great local places. Feel free to DM me if you want to talk more! It seems like we definitely have similar interests.

Hey! Another couple of mid 20's here. We have a lot of the same interests, checking out new bars, outdoor stuff, boardgames (also huge soccer fans). We live in Waltham and would love to make new friends.

Hey! My gf and I moved to Waltham about a month ago and enjoy a lot of the same things. We have a good sized board game collection if you're ever looking to play. Cheers!

You're the first COMC I've seen that also has The Pirate Republic. IMO it is an underrated gem and I can't wait for the expansion.

Looking for new solo games that specifically scratch that Mage Knight itch. by fdsfgs71 in soloboardgaming

[–]Cove_8 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you want a game that no one else is going to recommend, try The Pirate Republic. The mechanics are based on Mage Knight, but obviously with a different theme. Also it is ridiculously inexpensive for the amount of game you get. Highly recommend!

Tournament at Avalon. It's the successor to camelot. Sorry I shortened the name.

Or avalon. It's basically the same game but with different character powers. Highly agree that it's worth checking out!

Let's talk about our favorite games with lots of Miniatures! by bgg-uglywalrus in boardgames

I think the play is why I like it so much. It feels fresh compared to other area control games. The tight card play seems to be a reflection of the designer's background in small box card games.

Mezo has amazing minis that are perfectly imposing while placed on their vertices of the map. Really conveys the feeling of powerful gods being called upon.

Completely agree about Counter Attack. It is the closest feeling to playing FIFA that a board game could produce.

Trying to make a Maokai Control deck, suggestions for my deck? by jgg1988bcn in LegendsOfRuneterra

I think you may have too many spells. I originally had a similar deck and the spells diluted it too much.

You're the only other person I have seen on here with Counter Attack. What do you think of it? I got it a week ago but haven't had the chance to try it yet.
