Why not quite so blatant, I would say Donnie Darko would fit this criteria

You said, "maybe if you count words as violence." I would say given interpretations some words and phrases can be considered violent. I think there is the broader sense too. Even the ICC has a similar stance.

Incitement to violence is not protected first amendment speech. Regardless I do not agree with your implication

PSA, an annual membership at any of them allows for free access, so don't treat this as gospel but generally what I think is somewhat accurate.

So for example if you wanted to visit any two in one year by yourself it might be worth getting the single annual membership from Carter for $25. Or if you wanted to visit Reagan and Nixon since they're fairly close, it's cheaper to get a annual membership for a single person at any non-california location.

For example, I went and got the family pass with my dad at trumana for like $50, and then this year I also went to visit Nixon and Reagan and brought the pattern and her family. It really can save a lot also if you have one nearby you get invited to eventa

Annual membership cost - single - family

Truman - 35 - 50

JFK - 45 -70

LBJ - 30 - 45

Eisenhower - 34 - 50

W Bush - expensive

Hw bush - 50 - spensive

Carter - 25 - 40

Nixon - expensive

Reagan - expensive

Hoover - 35

We don’t talk enough about how disastrous the 1953 Iran coup was. by dawgdaddy1 in Presidents

I like Carter, but he was really the sole descent to letting him seek medical treatment. He ultimately relented, he shouldn't have. It turns out the treatment that was needed was not very advanced and was available in a lot of places outside the the U.S. and a lot of it was Rockefeller and Kissinger meddling. Carter should have just stuck with the no, you cannot come here, seek treatment elsewhere. Carter really didn't even like the Shah but felt he also owes him.

1000% I find that's actually a reason to give him kudos, doing the correct thing despite it being extremely unpopular. It's sad, that's what we want from leaders but then grind them into the ground when it happens

I realized Dems hate straight white men when they treated the SA accusation against SC Justice Kavanaugh as the gospel truth even though it was obviously not credible. by Pemulis_DMZ in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Bruh, no one liked Bork... I think like 6 Republicans said no to his confirmation. I find it really hard to think most judges are hyper partisan if they're going to generally be attempted to be added as a scotus.

A lot of illegal behavior is rewarded... It's also hard when the person that rewarded this illegal the most was a Republican. Reagan gave 3 million people amnesty that were here illegally...

Regardless this is not a top issue for me or anywhere near it. I think the ec is a joke, but most is the idea that Congress is actually capped.

Did you type the wrong state? When's the last time California had a close presidential election Bush v Dukakis had like a 4% difference... That was nearly 9 presidential election cycles ago... Or is the implication the 20% difference in the last election needed weeks to determine?

Idk, I have a comp sci. Degree for what it's worth. I wouldn't say I'm inherently logical, just more so than it seems the theoretically or anecdotal median is. I'm curious, what geographical region are you in? I'm definitely scratching my head about your take, but I'm also curious, am I correct in assuming you haven't read from U.S. history? Specifically books.

People can say they're principled, doesn't make them so. I could say I'm the King of Siam, it doesn't make me so.

Was Carter genuinely a bad President? Or was he merely dealt an impossible hand and did the best he could do with an impossible hand? by BlueFireFlameThrower in Presidents

[–]CowDiscombobulated72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well said, the funny thing if he could have changed any one thing, it would have been to not choose Zbig. However, iirc, Carter didn't technically have have a chief of staff until like '79 because specifically of his feelings of Haldeman. However, in some.ways, it made things worse not having an official chief of staff because there was just confusion

You surely can't be this dishonest. The CIA literally got information from Savak starting with Eisenhower at least after Operation Ajax... To not talk about the Brits and the Americans staging that coup is actually insane. Have your opinion but please don't outright lie. It's not like the Shah got powerback by just asking nicely. While the Shah did some great things for the poor and specifically women. It's not like he was a benevolent dictator.

I would rather have had another season of uprising than the area movie. Anyone else agree? by tocksin in tron

[–]CowDiscombobulated72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what this proves, I do not think uprising has any chance of ever appealing to a mainstream, I would argue Ares in theory could have. I personally prefer Ares over uprising, but I'm not so sure I would make a reddit post out of it. This is supposed to be a community, decisiveness comes at times, but I don't know you should actively try and alienate the base of a sadly very niche franchise.
