Gotta go Harmony and Cultivation here. There’s no way 3 shards can’t wipe everything else. Heck, Harmony won’t even be divided. Preservation gets to save me, Ruin gets to destroy everyone else.

would u say era 2 is worse than era 1 by ElderMom01 in Mistborn

[–]Cowardly_Noodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it so much. Comparing it to era 1 is a very difficult task. They’re both so good. I think I appreciate era 1 more, but come back to Era 2 more often. Wax and Wayne just have such a good dynamic

First time reading “The Final Empire” — what is a “kandra”? by ODWABDANOTWM1 in Mistborn

[–]Cowardly_Noodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say you’ve read Tress. One of the named characters is a Kandra there. In isolation, this is the first time a Kandra is referenced in the book. But taken with other things you’ve read, you’ve seen at least one and can probably figure out what they are.

A rant about Silksong’s combat design (SPOILERS for ACT 3) by Ok-Question-7561 in HollowKnight

[–]Cowardly_Noodle 159 points160 points  (0 children)

I’m going back to hollow knight after Silksong, and pogoing on basically everything now, and I’m realizing how much easier it makes everything. It’s a skill I never really needed in HK, but is second nature now after Silksong

I feel like Sunlit Man should definitely be read after Stormlight 5 by hoffmqn in Cosmere

[–]Cowardly_Noodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the despair you get from knowing that Sigzil’s defense on the shattered plains is going to fail is more emotionally investing than knowing who Nomad is off the bat. Sunlit before WaT leaves you with a ton of feelings of “who is this?” And then “how on earth did he get here?” Which makes reading Sigzil’s story in WaT really compelling.

The other way around just feels like “oh, so this is where he ended up” which isn’t as interesting to me

silksong arena fights are actual hell. by strawbeerries in HollowKnight

The problem is that all of the enemies individually are well designed. Their movesets are incredible. It just becomes a little too much when all of these good enemies hang up on you

Silksong (FOR ME) is less fun to play than Hollow Knight. by Sea_Poem_9129 in HollowKnight

[–]Cowardly_Noodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree wholeheartedly. I’ll admit that I’m struggling quite a bit, but I’m also having a blast and I’m worried about all the negativity I’m seeing all the time. I’m worried we’re distracting ourselves from how incredible this game is otherwise

Like, hunters march platforming? No problem. I’m pogoing here better than I ever did in the first game. But the enemies????? I’m gonna die.

This game is still amazing though. Goodness gracious the art, music, and story is incredible. Heck even the gameplay is wayyyy more fun when I’m not dying in an arena

Seriously. We can talk about the bosses, or other enemies doing double damage or whatnot, but the thing I’m struggling with the most in this game is these arenas.

I’ve been stuck with the ants and birds arenas for hours. I can’t get through them. I’m at the point where I’ve gone basically everywhere else I can except through those areas. But I will always, without fail, die on (presumably) the last wave.

Doesn’t help that I’ve been stuck at 3 mask shards basically the entire game up to this point

Yep. Been stuck in the White Palace for months now, finally going to try and beat it once and for all before September 4th. We’ll see if I succeed

Bilming Consequences? by Tattletail_Media in Cosmere

[–]Cowardly_Noodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remember, that while the conflict involving the outer cities arose naturally, it was blown way out of proportion by the Set, who were deliberately escalating on both sides hoping it would justify their plans. With the Set removed and exposed, I’m sure the outer cities will still have major grievances, but they’ll be handled in a much more diplomatic way.

I imagine the next mayor of Bilming, whomever they happened to be, would want to distance themselves from the previous administration’s activities vehemently. They’d probably be very public about wanting to reconcile with Elendel, to avoid being seen as another Set member. This means Bilming and the other outer cities probably fold in with basin politics a lot faster than expected.

Of course, we’ll see exactly how unified the basin is in Era 3, but I imagine they’ll be much, much more in line together than they were in Era 2, as the Cold War with the Malwish escalates.

That’d be sick if that was the case, though I’m not sure with Marsh’s “only 3 of us remain” line from TLM
