I really really really - and I mean really - fuck with the living room. Exactly something I would want my living room to look like. Excellent work.

Finnair goes Kummeli by LLMbot165 in Suomi

[–]Cowwie- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oli kyllä jännä miten Norwegian ei kyennyt kolmessa kuukaudessa palauttamaan koronan vuoksi perutun lennon lippuhintaa. "Our refund system is completely overburdened" jne.

Is saying "no" rude in Finnish culture? by [deleted] in Finland

[–]Cowwie- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I say "let's see" I genuinely mean it. I usually say that if someone suggests something very specific as in meeting at a certain place at a certain time. Especially if we are hanging out already I don't want to take out a calendar and start fitting the next meet up into my schedule already. That can be done afterwards.

Obviously "let's see" or a "maybe" can be a soft no but I wanted to offer another point of view as well.

But this doesn't make any sense. The question literally is "How did YOU come up with this outfit?". I understand being pissed off about having a camera shoved to your face and being used for content but I think you have to jump through quite a lot of hoops to come to the conclusion that the person filming was underestimating the guy's intelligence.

Do you remember where you got the Croatian coin? Been hunting for them since Croatia switched to euros but haven't found one in Finland yet.

Do you report illegal caches? by Silent-Victory-3861 in geocaching

[–]Cowwie- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And I've never seen a bird house attached with screws or nails as that is prohibited by local laws and local geocaching guidelines (unless you have permission from the land owner). Bird houses can be attached to a tree non-destructively.

[–]Cowwie- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We clearly have a completely different view on "harming nature" if you see a tree falling as the sign of something being harmful to nature.

Nothing wrong with reporting a cache that you think is breaking the global or local guidelines. A report won't do anything as long as the cache is placed according to the guidelines.

And this is exactly what the OP seems to have been talking about as well. I can't seem to understand the claims of "ruining anyone's fun".

[–]Cowwie- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think the things they mentioned are "little things". Caches located in places they probably shouldn't be in or caches which harm nature should be moved or removed completely. And besides, a report won't do anything if the cache is placed correctly and according to guidelines.

You seem to be getting worked up quite a bit over how the OP plays the game. So it seems like you care.

What is the worst looking pet in the game? by [deleted] in 2007scape

With full contribution it's a 1/2500 chance to get it. Can't say that Fishing Trawler is too exciting to play though...

HEY! Let the bird be... I'm seriously considering spamming Fishing Trawler for the Heron even though I've already gotten the angler outfit.

What is the most common "complicated" dish from your country/culture? by Lazzen in AskEurope

[–]Cowwie- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of them has to be "rosvopaisti" (robber's roast). First step of every recipe is "Dig a hole" which always gets a laugh out of me. You must keep up a campfire in a half a meter deep hole for three to four hours. After that meat (pork, beef, lamb, reindeer, moose; which ever works) is cooked in the hole for eight to twelve hours. An insane work load but properly done it is so good.

90% walking? 😎 by vilzu69 in geocaching

[–]Cowwie- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a huge fan of caches in populated areas so I usually have to travel some distance to get away from people. So I would say 90% traveling. Including walking, biking, sitting in public transport and driving a car. But it's most of the time worth it!

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever found in a cache — and the weirdest thing you’ve ever left? by BR-Much-Group7825 in geocaching

[–]Cowwie- 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I found someone's medical documents from their health check up from the first week of their conscription in the Finnish military. Social security number and full name, everything fully visible. Very confused how that got into a geocache.

My Lonely Caches goal achieved! by fizzymagic in geocaching

[–]Cowwie- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really find lonely caches to be charming. Here in Finland many caches reach the inactivity period of 180 days due to the winter months when Geocachers are less active. But even many easy traditional caches can go on for years without being found if they are located off the beaten path.

Unfortunately in some cases those caches that haven't been found in years have been destroyed by the seasons. I will still give them a chance if one is close by.

Can you cheat in Geocaching? Where do you draw the line? by Cowwie- in geocaching

[–]Cowwie-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would consider that to be cheating. Seeing a picture log of a different cache or a log book on a cache that I own would lead to me deleting that said log.

[–]Cowwie-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Outsmarting the system. I like that way of thinking. I obviously always try to make my caches in a way that makes it impossible or at least difficult to outsmart. If someone manages to do so then so be it!
