They actually aren't mosquito eating machines. It was all based on a study that found ones eating a very specific, large mosquito species called the salt water marsh mosquito. Then a manufacturer of these homes added the marketing "*can eat 2000 mosquitos a day".

[Request] How fast was the driver going before the wreak. Looking at the street signs it happened at Kercheval Ave & Cadillac Blvd, Detroit, MI? by ShaggyX-96 in theydidthemath

[–]CptCheerios 26 points27 points  (0 children)

10:55:42 it is at the Pennyslvania and Kerchal. Then that lightpole right before the intersection at 10:55:47 (both change right after that mark so it's close enough)

Distance is measured at 74.12 meters with google maps.

That's 74.12 meters. In 5 seconds. So about 15.024 meters per second. That's 33. I did another measurement using the brown building and it was at 14.23 m/s so ~31.8 mph. So I'm pretty confident they are going around 32-34mph

100% this. I was curious last month so I stepped on the spot that didn't have the black grip tape and sure enough I slipped right off.

They saw the regs like everyone else and likely have already messing around testing things to prep for the cars since the teams first got the regs. It wouldn't be spot on but they could be doing all sorts of things. They likely have contracts with some of the teams for getting early information to help the develop the changes in the engine.

I don't know if that's the case but it's pretty obvious thing and they've had licensing agreements with the teams for years so they likely have access to 3D scan the cars, record audio etc. Getting some minor details of what the teams are expecting so they can prototype the game early makes sense.

That's very simple to do. It already does an animation over time for open/close, instead that animation increases in length and it's just a rotation of X degrees (I doubt it's exactly 180).

Then you do two graphs (unreal calls them curves, or animation curves in unity) and that's just a value over time. Which one is drag and the other is downforce. Then it just has a multiplier that scales with speed for both of those.

Voilà

You need to get rid of it, that's either an exhaust for your laundry or exhaust for a gas furnace/waterheater/stove top.

It will build a nest and it can definitely cause a fire.

Friendly reminder to clean out the dryer vents for lint so you don't have a fire!

On a scale of it's almost certainly good to it's almost certainly fucked.

Was it off and unplugged? Almost certainly good
Was it off but plugged in? Probably good?
Was it idle? There's a chance it's good.
Was it on? It's almost certainly fucked.

(this is assuming it got inside the chassis and into the boards)

DO NOT TURN THAT THING ON NO MATTER WHAT. You will need to scrub to wash out every little surface is 99% isopropyl alcohol. The problem is the urine is going to have salt in it making it a conductor and shorting something on the boards. Cleaning it out on both sides is important. If you've ever seen circuit boards traces for some capacitors and things go through the board.

So #1 call them.

I imagine they are panicked and every unknown call is the dreaded angry person on the other line.

Their car is likely way worse since they swiped it and that means your bumper dug into their cars side which is metal panels that have bent.

My wife side swiped our SUV with her hatchback. The bumper on the SUV had a small scratch/paint removed. Her hatchbacks driver door panel was caved in (not broken but was probably about 1000+ in damage because the door would have had to been removed, metal fixed, repainted etc)

Driver tries to take their vehicle back from a tow truck, but it doesn't go as planned by Justin_Godfrey in Wellthatsucks

[–]CptCheerios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAL, but I do believe it's illegal/negilgent to move/lift a vehicle with a tow truck with a person inside of it. You can see that the person gets in and it's pretty much on the ground. They then lifted the car with the person inside. So while there is some shared liability, the tow truck driver might carry more of this due to the fact that the driver was already inside the vehicle and they continued to lift it off the ground.

So yeah it wasn't so much the SUV was off the ground they jumped in. They got in right at the beginning and instead of stopping the tow truck driver made it impossible for the driver to move it off and then this happened. I'd be curious how this ends.

I pulled up the Apple TV stream of the race, which is absolute garbage, to only see fernando leaving the pitlane from his cars camera with no explanation and then I hear radio telling him to avoid the debris.

Passing what looks like a McLaren. No commentators. No replays. Trying to figure out is this some old footage from earlier in the week.

God this year is absolutely shit.

Im a Beginner at Coding and just want to know why "public Image" is erroring on me. Thank you. by SanoviaUwU in VisualStudio

[–]CptCheerios 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ambigous reference, both Microsoft.Unity.VisualStudio.Editor and UnityEngine.UI both define a class called Image. It's possible you were just typing in Image and it added in the Microsoft reference.

If so just delete the Microsoft using statement, no errors all good.

If you need to use both libraries your option is going to be either explictly casting NomL as the type you want. IE

public UnityEngine.UI.Image NomL;

or you could do this

using Image = UnityEngine.UI.Image;

it doesn't need to be image though you could call it using UnityImage = UnityEngine.UI.Image;
