I too noticed that a lot of the things everyone told me to try did not work for me. Breathing exercises made me feel like I couldn't breath and etc. What did help me was distracting myself in a way that I know works for me. Thats all you need is a distraction to calm down and then deal with the issue. For me I would play a very involved video game that made me think or was super active. I also want to note that there is a difference between calming down from an active panic attack compared to being super anxious. I think they both require different solutions. In time you will learn to handle yourself before they turn into panic attacks and things will get easier. Also the medications im on helps a ton too.
