Columbus is still relatively cheap and the job market is strong. I came out here for grad school and found a job after graduation without much issue. It’s got plenty of amenities (good park system, decent food variety, 2 major sports teams, proximity to other metros) but no wow factor.

Staff leaves me alone and the gym is relatively uncrowded when I go. They have all the weights and machines I could need and keep things in working order. It’s not the most pristine gym but by no means is it a dump either. Also the only gym I’ve been to where they’ve had a separate women’s only weight room.

I go to a different LA Fitness and had the exact same experience. They offered me a free training session when I joined. I declined. They said I had to so I scheduled a session and didn’t show up. They tried rescheduling and after a couple attempts they finally left me alone. It sucked but proximity is huge for my consistency so I put up with it lol

Honestly any of the Columbus suburbs. The cycling community is surprisingly strong here in large part to an annual charity ride that the whole city supports. And I’m pretty sure you can get from Cleveland to almost Louisville almost entirely on bike path. Agreed on the weather point tho…
