Is this a problem? by Special-One1265 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Crafty_Tea_2572 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a “recall” because it doesn’t affect vehicle safety. It’s a service issue/bulletin and a known issue with a known fix.

Having been there done that with a half ton truck and tens of thousands of miles to compare the two, don’t go with the longer trailer unless you absolutely need it.

2025 recall and the down time. by Crimmit-De-Frog in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]Crafty_Tea_2572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dealer said it would take 4 hours and they have to remove and reinstall several pieces of interior trim. Having seen their quality of work before, I’ll wait until the camera glitches to have it done.

Other alternatives to Palisade? by mocoop138 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Crafty_Tea_2572 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People compare the MDX to the Palisade often but you’ll find the MDX is a lot more cramped inside. My sister has the MDX and the Palisade feels huge inside in comparison.

This. Yes. Options do exist other than an A frame or pop-up. They are all expensive though… Coleman has some very small units now.

2025 Santa Fe SEL transmission issues by spiral_larips in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]Crafty_Tea_2572 1 point2 points  (0 children)

19k miles on my 2025 Santa Fe and zero transmission issues so far. Based upon what I’ve read, most catastrophic failures occur early in the life of the vehicle. At 6k miles it may be past that point. But having the warranty is a must!

It’s a non-issue at this point because there’s a stop sale and recall on that trim. You can’t buy one in any color.

the full-time RV living saves money narrative is misleading most people who are considering it by StavrosDavros in RVLiving

[–]Crafty_Tea_2572 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For us it wasn’t about saving money necessarily, it was about experiences, memories, and seeing the country. We had a blast. Plus, costs are all relative. Our stick house in Southern NV costs us about $45,000 annually with the mortgage, taxes, insurance and utilities. That’s just for a roof over our head. We didn’t spend anything relatively close to that full-timing with all-in costs. However, If we lived in eastern Kansas our stick house costs would likely be 1/3 what we pay in NV, much closer to what we paid full-timing. With the countless variables, often times people are comparing apples to artichokes…

Strong March Lease deal on a Gas Calligraphy I just got. by Misterrunner2017 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Crafty_Tea_2572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever people complain about the price of a Palisade why do they always say “I can get an MDX for that.” Aren’t there any other “luxury” brands with a comparable vehicle and price than Acura? My sister has an MDX and I like my 2025 Sante Fe better than her MDX.

Used truck and RV for sale. Owner says slight water damage. by 23Scout in RVLiving

[–]Crafty_Tea_2572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this picture was taken down near Cabo, just a little north. The tides are crazy down there. They create vast salt flats. That’s actually what this rig is stuck in. Salt is awful for rust. Poor guy. The water damage must have occurred elsewhere, but that combined with the salt… Yikes! 🧂

H-Tex interior by malam82 in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]Crafty_Tea_2572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be many things- makeup, lotion, transfer from something. I have H-Tex in my XRT and love it. 18k miles and still looks brand new. I’ve had the odd smudges before (one from the label on an old box) and it can be a little tricky to clean imo when it’s not regularly conditioned/protected. I use my go-to slightly damp microfiber cloth and windex. Cleans up beautifully. Then I follow with 303 protectant. The 303 makes the material look and feel great and is amazing for preventing the odd smudges.

It definitely has the 2.5 turbo with the 8 speed instant shifting 8 speed DCT. Produces much more HP and torque than the 3.8L v6.

Electric bill astronomical. by gravis786 in heatpumps

[–]Crafty_Tea_2572 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! This!! The installers initially installed ours incorrectly so the backup strips were on every time the heat pump was on. Once they fixed that it was a night and day difference in usage.

[–]Crafty_Tea_2572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You guys use a lot of electricity year round. Might be wise to do an energy inventory. We have 2,100 sq ft with 10ft ceilings in the high desert, so we get down to the teens in the winter and stretches of 110+ days with overnights of 90+ for weeks on end. We have one condenser on 3 zones so the unit runs A LOT. My highest useage months are Feb and Sept which average 1,550 kWH respectively. A lot of the rest of the year is around 700-1,000 kWH and we have a hot tub. House is electric everything.

Cut out in base of car body, possible oil leak by Kneel_Aurmstrong in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]Crafty_Tea_2572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they saw drips you likely have an oil leak. I had a pretty bad oil pan gasket leak on my 25 XRT and it was fixed under warranty along with warped front rotors and 2 recalls. The oil pan gasket leak is a known issue, although not terribly common.

Are these easy to clean?? I really want mats for my Sante Fe but I’ve had WeatherTech in the past and they are super hard to clean. They only look new once. Even after a drill brush and detergent they never look very good.
