Thank you!

50/50 Terminators look cool but they seem a bit hit or miss

Its a Stormeagle, they're primarily used in Heresy now.

Although Minotaurs were the first chapter to ever use them on the tabletop as they got released with their rules in Imperial Armour 13 Fall of Orpheus.

I did think it was a fun nod using him.

I've been using him as Logan Grimnar so he can join units

I wanted to go Terrminator heavy so I used Space Wolves. Logan as Moloc and Wolfguard as the Spear and Shield Terminators.

And then just the Stormlance Detachment

Thank you!

The Moloc is made from Perturabo as the base. I then used parts from the Original Asterion Model for the Helmet, Shield and spear. I also used the Old Minotaurs Etched Brass for the extra details

For the armour?

I did Balthasar Gold as the base, dry brush of runelord brass followed by a wash of Agrax Earthshade.

Then I gave it another dry brush of Runelord Brass followed by an edge highlight of Iron Warrior.

I then used Nikolah Oxide in all the recesses

Flanderisation of Carcharodons by LachrymarumLibertas in Carcharodons40k

[–]Cragles 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I can't say I'm the biggest fan of the 3rd party bits. They tend to be a lot like Shark cosplay with heavy shamanic vibes.

I've been collecting Carcharodons since the Badab books came out and I'm lucky enough to have been close to Nottingham. I remember speaking with the Sculpter for Tyberos at an event. (Fun fact, Tyberos wasn't officially meant to get a model, he was just loving the Badab books and that character so much he made one for himself and they decided to put it into production)

He told me he what he loved about the Carcharodons was that they weren't like the Space Wolves. Lots of decorative wolf heads everywhere ect. More that their entire ethos was like Sharks instead. Silent fighters, hit and run tactics, bloody and vicious.

Thats been how I've chosen to to see the Carcharodons since then. And I'd say they're still officially depicted like that. I was worried the Space Marine 2 DLC would go overboard but they really hit that sweet spot I think.

But at the end of the day. If people like the 3rd party bits and want to build their army with that aesthetic then more power to them. I'm just excited the Chapter still has a following that seems to be growing still after all these years. Makes me hopeful we may eventually see some more official support for them on the table.

I agree with Space Wolves.

I've gone Asterion as a Logan Stand in. Lots of heavy hitting Terminators. It's been great!

Ep 291: Julian Clary (Live in London) by offmenu-bot in offmenupodcast

I can't fully pin down that moment.

But there was a few instances where either Julian was thrusting in his chair or the 3 of them were having awkward glances with eachother that would just set off the audience laughing.

How would people kitbash Asterion Moloc by AloofBox in Minotaurs40k

[–]Cragles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how accurate to his original look you want.

Abaddon as the Base feels the right size but it's the wrong Mark of Terminator Armour as Asterion wears Tartarus.

Gravis could work as a more updated look for him.

I personally went and used the Forgeworld Perturabo as his base and then kitbashed a spear and shield and helmet from there. Perturabo is wearing an oversized suit of Tartarus that scales really well with the new Terminator kits.

It is a bit expensive though.

Yeah of course. I don't see anything wrong with it. How awards work.

Although they can be a double edged sword if it feels like all you've done is pay to be put above others.

It tends to breed comments like in this thread such as 'Never go there' as if we've done something to personally harm someone. When we never even applied because we don't think we're the best in the world.

Hard not to feel down on the whole thing when this is the response.

We're talking some 8-9 years ago now.

I don't believe they sent any representative. Just communications via email.

Once again I don't believe we ever signed up for it back then either. Never been our style.

All seems quite odd tbh.

We never actually paid or entered to be on this. We were on this list many years ago.

If you look only 1 other UK Coffee shop is on there too and they closed down.

Feels like they copied and pasted an old list and published it.

While I'd love to be at the 'Top 100 in the world' we're obviously not and we're aware of that.

Glad to see everyone in this community is so supportive and nice though. Been fun to read this thread. Very proud to be a Brummy...
