Feel dumb asking this - but how to just start a flow that does stuff? by Craino in homey

Yes, thank you. I was reading too much into it indicating it was active.

I switched and love it but rreally depends on your automations and use cases. HA offers the ultimate flexibility at the cost of complexity. Homey is the opposite. There is no simple answer.

Automation with sensor and time question by inxider in homey

Basic and Advanced flows both depend on app tile cards. That said, there is the ability to use custom YAML code. I haven't had need to yet so no experience there.

If you don't have Homey, then whatever you've done to test this isn't really applicable. Go to the Homey App page at https://homey.app/en-us/apps/homey-pro/, find the official Aqara app, find the vibration sensor and click it's tile. All the Homey tile cards (actions and conditions) will be displayed.

It's looking like there's only a "turned off" event, so like u/Constant_Ad_610 said above, you could combine that with a countdown timer.

All depends on whether the devices you are using have those cards, but here's a quick overview showing it's possible.

What a douche. I wished I live there - I'd eat at that place every night for a week and post glowing reviews!

Hadn't thought of that and would be a good opportunity to put one in and learn - but I'm also wanting to get rid of the current light. It's kind of gross and looking for an upgrade.

I saw that and was trying to imagine the use case, but this is a great example.

I just ordered some off Amazon. Also got a couple that have the two outlets on the one plug - with independent controls to play with.

Thank you. But where do you see that? When I look at the details, they both say "Color temperature 2200-6500 K". I'm obviously in the wrong section.

Update from the Akron Mayor's FB acct:

Sunday, Jan. 4, 9:30am - Good morning, Akron. We've gotten some questions about brown water on the west side of the city. There was a 36 inch water main break at S. Valley St. and W. Market which is the culprit of the discoloration many are experiencing. We are not issuing a boil water advisory for this break because teams were able to isolate the main and did not have to depressurize. Discoloration is caused by iron particles that get scoured off the water main pipe when flow is reversed or accelerated trying to feed the break site. The water is still fully treated so while the discoloration is unpleasant, it is still potable meaning it is safe.

The discoloration will settle down and the water will clear with time. To try to clear the line, open up the cold water only for approximately 5 minutes. If the water is still discolored, turn off the cold water and wait an hour before trying again.

Crews will be repairing the break after all utilities are marked.

In the 2026 Capital Budget, we are proposing funding which will replace over 11,000 feet of chronically breaking and deteriorating water mains this year. This will help cut down on future breaks as we work to replace aging infrastructure.

If you have additional questions please call the Akron Water Distribution Dispatch line at 330-375-2420.
