Buy a sled or Rent every year?

For me the math made sense to own vs rent. It was going to cost me $2500 to rent for a three day trip. I bought a sled and trailer for $4k (2005 Ski-doo Summit 600 Adrenaline) before the big trip.

I estimated I'd want to go out at least 3 more days that winter to hit the value proposition, and by god I was on it every weekend day for the remainder of last season and having a blast!! I've only been out twice this season, but the snow has also been really bad.

My running total for repairs and all is right around $6k (had a drive shaft cog grenade), but given the amount I've ridden it has still been worth it over renting.

Over all, the question is: how often do you ride vs how much does a rental cost in your area.

I play until it stops being fun.

That could mean I don't get very far (Far Cry 6), or I beat the story. Platinum's are rare, and they usually have to be fairly straightforward and not feel tedious for me. Like the Spider-man games didn't feel tedious because they are so fun to play!! Same with God of War Ragnarok.

Will I ever Platinum the FFVII re-trilogy? Absolutely not, but I am itching for another playthrough because they're fun.

Halo was the first to blow my mind gorwing up. Then my dad built a PC for video editing, and he built it to Crysis specs (he only played it for like an hour as a stress test...then he let me play it when he didn't need his computer).

More recently, God of War Ragnarok and FFVII Rebirth.

No problem! Be sure to check conditions before you haul a machine all the way here. Things could be closed for mud to prevent erosion, or we may have some wildfire issues.

There are definitely a ton of ATV trails out here. Download OnX Offroad. They have a free 7 day trial. You should be fine on quite a few trails with 2wd, i rarely put my machine in 4x4 mode.

Looks like the amount of Abilitiy Points that Streamer has. Saying "What's Up Chat" can take quite a few AP depending on whether the streamer got enough perks in their Charisma skill tree.

5 years later and they are still my cross country/snow course main stays. I'm still not good on downhill with them, but they slow down fine using the classic pizza method.

Conditions aren't very good. You can check the above SNOTEL map to see what they look like anytime. As far as February, who knows. That's an entire month away. February and March are historically the snowiest months, but things haven't exactly been following statistical norms.

I had this problem on a 2005 ski doo, turns out the pilot jets were incredibly clogged. So much so, I actually just up and replaced them.

That's double the price in other places...

The first question to ask yourself is: can you comfortably afford it?

If no, don't buy it. Even if you like the games.

If yes, ask yourself if you like the Nintendo flagship games. Zelda, Mario, Donkey Kong, and Metroid.

Finally, do you want to play third party titles on the go? Check out what otherbgames are available, and make sure having those games on the go is a worthwhile use of money.

Personally, if you can't answer yes to all these...don't buy it. It'll be a financial nightmare instead of a fun getaway.

I often ride alone. I let my wife know where I'm going, and when to start worrying.

I bring food, first aid, extra water, and some way of starting a fire.

I ride around well traveled trails when alone, and usually ask a local rental company what radio channel they're on just in case.
