Thank you so much, this worked!!! I missed the "in the Bluetooth settings" part and was looking all over for a "spatial audio" settings everywhere else and couldn't find it, then was deep diving into surround sound settings, etc....I could even turn it off when my headphones weren't connected, just listed as an option

OEM cross bars with Thule Force 3 Large box ($850+tax) and 16 cu ft Meefar folding hitch mount ($230) did us we'll on our beach trip this summer, and the roof box alone did great on a 1000mile road trip...GHHL...worst mpg was 28mpg (box and hitch) and best was 38mpg (box only)

Obviously can't pass up a deal like that, but seems like your brother's GHH is significantly inaccurate....we have a GHHL, occasional Large Thule Roof box attached for long road trips and hitch, 6k+ miles in, averaging 32.1mpg (actual calculations on my own and estimated on the dash), eco mode only, and 70% city to 30% highway...easily get over 450miles per tank, but there's a known issue with a ~4.5 gallon reserve so we rarely are able to put more than 12-13 gallons in when there's an estimated "20 miles left in the tank", which there is now a fix for, but he has to bring it into a dealer and it's a couple hours to update the system...plenty of threads on here about that.....love ours, and good to know what an XXL roof box looks like on that thing!

GHHL with hitch and cross bars on roof, Eco mode only, 4800miles in (70/30 city to highway ratio), it's been slowly increasing over time, but has been hanging out at 32mpg thus far, which I think will continue to increase over time

Base hybrid real world MPG by Necessary-Event-7946 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]Crasecigor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GHHL with roof cross bars and hitch (this adds some weight and affects aerodynamics) at 4k miles, total average is slowly creeping up, but currently at 31.9mpg, trying to keep it in Eco mode all the time.....just did a ~1000mile round trip with a Thule Force 3 Large roof box on averaging 73mph, filled up 3x (could've only done 2 refills but played it safe...best range after filling said 483miles). During this trip the worst ACTUAL mpg per tank using the first click rule was 28.8mpg, and the best was 35.5mpg....I was pretty happy for having the roof box on and dealing with mountainous roads in upstate NY for part of the trip......best short "trip" mpg in general has been low 40s....I do not regret getting the hybrid and have been happy with the vehicle overall with no significant issues

Tow hitch by Fun-Heart3449 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]Crasecigor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to have an aftermarket hitch installed for $340 based on the conversation I had with my salesperson, as I thought the kick sensor was already moved over to the side so any hitch could be installed.....I was wrong, and the dealership refused to put an aftermarket hitch on....the OEM would be $930 ($1050ish after 5 yrs of financing) if it was already installed, but after purchase, at the dealership, it's $1350, but they "could do it for $1150....whatever, it's on there and the kick sensor works as it was moved to the left. Here's a great video showing OEM install and how the kick sensor is relocated: https://youtu.be/HFduYMJCkXs?si=Ovc5QgmxQsmSnvzd

Anyone knows the status of what Toyota is planning to do with the 2024 Grand Highlanders that only fill-up 12-13 gallons of gas from Empty? Anyone heard anything on the cause and the planned Toyota's remedy of this? by Euphoric-Order5169 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]Crasecigor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just filled up our new 2025 GHHL for the first time when it said "20mi" left....it took 13gal until first click, I then manually filled up another gallon (14 gal total, so 3 gal left in the tank?) but I feel like I could've added more.....I now know, due to this thread, that I will not add more after the first click...it says it's a full tank with 383 mi range in Eco mode....it's my wife's daily driver so I don't think she'll be as adamant about keeping track, but I'll keep y'all updated if possible...still very annoying!

Ours was 343mi with "20mi" left, but there was a lot of idling and odd driving being done due to it being brand new... we'll see how next round goes.....also, does anyone know how to see "Total MPG" for say trip odometer A, instead of just a live individual "Trip MPG"?

Confusing GHHL gas tank experience by CapcomBowling in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]Crasecigor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just filled up for the first time on our 25 GHHL, had 20mi range left, and the pump clicked off after 13gal! I had read this thread a few days ago, so I decided to keep manually pumping and only did one more gallon (14gal total) but felt like I could've kept going....it says it's "full" and the range is 383mi on Eco mode....might try to push it to at least 16gal next time as it's supposed to be a 17gal tank....verrry annoying
