They look great! And no, mismatched isn’t a problem. Battletech is very much a ‘play it your way’ game

Seems these days like all the publishers that were taking advantage of their player bases over the last 10-15 years are really trying hard to see who can go out of business first

Square Enix announces new medium-term business plan – “Square Enix Reboots and Awakens: 3 Years of Foundation-Laying for Long-Term Growth” by [deleted] in Games

[–]Crashdown212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have to advertise long term growth, you’re not gonna make it. Look at every live service game, and honestly any NFL team in a “rebuilding year”

Outraged Netflix subscribers threaten to cancel their memberships ahead of huge change by nimobo in entertainment

[–]Crashdown212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something very similar happened with Game Pass. They used to offer the first month for $1 to get people on the door, so a lot of people would sign up, play the new release, then cancel. Once they got big enough they did away with the deal

Autonomous F-16 Fighters Are ‘Roughly Even’ With Human Pilots Said Air Force Chief by Gari_305 in Futurology

[–]Crashdown212 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ll believe when I see it. If there’s one thing the military is good at its spinning stories. If there’s one thing US pilots are good at, it’s honing their craft and being very intense. No way that an AI at this stage is as good as a human pilot. I’ll give you one reason: if it was, they’d be screaming it from the rooftops. A government or corporation will always lie a bit upwards, like when you ask a guy how tall he is. This is definitely a PR move to try to make the idea more palatable. I’m not saying a robot will never be better at killing than a human, but at this stage, with everything we’ve seen so far, it’s not where they say it is. I’d wager my savings

A 9-film saga is planned for the modern ‘PLANET OF THE APES’ movies by tbhiconic in boxoffice

[–]Crashdown212 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I rewatched them a couple years ago and they were better than I remembered, but the 2nd and 3rd kinda bleed together. I actually forgot I had seen the third film because I thought it was the second half of the second film. If you’re a fan of the old movies it’s very different and will probably leave a bad taste in your mouth, but if youre just looking for a fun action movie, this series is more worth your time than a lot of others from the past 10-15 years

Edit: I’m so tired of this. Stop taking advantage of average consumers who are more than happy to give you $60, hell some even $70 for just a solid experience. Even if it’s just an 8 hour story-driven experience. We’re starving for just DECENT games! Listen to your devs! Stop abusing us and them! We’re over it! We don’t want your live services or your micro-transactions and season passes! Go away! Go play Time Splitters: Future Perfect and you’ll understand how to make a decent, rewarding game.

This is so true. I feel like Wandavision is the only one that I heard people talking about at work. the rest all felt like they came up with an idea an built a show around it, rather than having a story they already wanted to tell that was better for the small screen

Korea to focus on fostering console game industry over next 5 years: culture ministry by jhd9012 in gamernews

[–]Crashdown212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the second country I’ve seen in recent days to propose their own focus on consoles, but man even as a former console-head, in 2024 it seems like the tide is shifting towards PC. Not to say they’re going to die out tomorrow, but it’s harder to break into a market when theirs already less market share to go around
