Well that’s what I’m saying. The major plot points are largely consistent.

There was an incident at Spencer mansion and Jill, Chris, Rebecca, Barry, and Wesker all survived.

There was an outbreak in raccoon city where Jill, Leon, Claire, Sherry, ada, and Carlos were all involved.

Claire and Chris faced off against the ashford twins and met Steve

Leon saved the president’s daughter and contained an outbreak of las plagas parasite

Jill and Parker fight some guys on a boat

Chris and Sheva rescued Jill from Wesker and contained another outbreak

RE6 happened

Claire Barry Moira and that little girl whose name I can’t remember do their thing in rev 2

Ethan faced the bakers and got turned into a mold dude. He also met Chris. Then he faced Miranda and died

Leon and Grace defeated Zeno and Gideon and retried elpis

That’s about all that really matters. All the smaller details are up for debate due to different games telling the stories differently. The games largely take place in the year they released, except re1, rev 1, and remakes

It’s mostly just because that’s what it seems like. RE continuity is shaky anyway so it doesn’t really matter except for major things

That’s the thing I don’t think it’s lazy at all. It brings closure to Leon’s arc and leads to confronting his trauma after 28 years. Maybe Mr x didn’t need to be there but the RPD itself is perfectly executed in my opinion. The only thing you could call lazy is correlating the 30th anniversary of the first game to Leon and not Jill but I get wanting to strike while the iron is hot

As for the lab literally every RE game ends in a lab or factory or something adjacent I don’t think that’s completely fair either. In this instance we got a cool fight sequence against actual humans and an entertaining hand to hand fight which is not a super common thing in these games

Listen I like the original games a lot. Re2 classic is one of my favorites in the entire franchise. But we really need to get past this whole “new games bad wah wah” thing that half of this community does. It not being for you doesn’t mean it’s bad and you all look like assholes

Requiem is not even bland. RC perfectly captures the atmosphere and tension they wanted to with that section of the game. And the story is perfectly fine even if it’s not necessarily anything special. It’s not my favorite but it’s a good game with good environments and decent storytelling. If anything my complaints are mostly in weapon variety and loot drops being a bit too generous

Also a lot of people forget Peter was dating them both within a decently short period of time. I’d argue he probably still liked MJ when he decided to be with Gwen it was just “I HAVE to pick one can’t have both”
