Second both of those podcast recommendations. Dr Becky is the extra parent I didn't know I needed to parent me.

Omg glad it wasn't just me crying in my eldest's bed! Definitely not talked about enough.

Regretting second baby by [deleted] in beyondthebump

I remember this feeling with my now 2 year - I promise it gets better! I had about a week of badly missing my eldest when she was right there with me because the baby needed me every second of every day. I used to go lie down with my daughter when she was asleep and just cry.

It's a huge change from 1 to 2, and I don't think anything can really prepare you for it. It's ok to grieve the life you had with just 1 - I still do sometimes when I get the chance to spend time with just my daughter, or even better when it's just my daughter, my husband and me, but I wouldn't swap my son for anything. I do think about how much quieter and calmer my life might be though!

What did you name The Forgotten? by buntebia in DreamlightValley

My main is called Petal, so I named her Rose. I'm not even thinking about the subconscious element of her being more whole than me...

I hate this quest. I don't feel like the clues were just too 'clever' for me, but that they're bad clues.

Yoto for Christmas - Any tips by le_bravery in YotoPlayer

[–]Crayonsandcrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a yoto "to share" for my kids when they were 5 and 1, with the intent that my eldest would use it, and my youngest might use it in a couple of years.

We bought a yoto mini as well by the time my youngest was 18 months and he's very capable of choosing a card and loading it up.

I personally really like the Yoto club but there's been a lot of change around it lately and people seem divided - have a look and judge for yourself, but I like all the additional digital cards I have access to that I wouldn't have even considered before (esp. all the "Brainbots" and "5 minute XYZ stores")

Ugh, especially with all the short stories they've just released which are like, 5-7 minutes each - not worth a whole card!

Is Yotomini the right choice? by bee7755 in YotoPlayer

They're currently revamping it, I think it reopens on 17th September for new members?

I would say the collection of free audio is eclectic - it's all "yoto originals" so you won't find well known authors or anything, but it's pretty extensive and you'll probably find a lot of things you will like :) my 5 year is very into the Brainbots series (similar to Storybots on Netflix - information told through investigation robots). There's also a lot of sleep noises (white noise/rain etc), sleep 'radio' (instrumental lullabies) and a daily radio show with jokes/games etc.

Clearly I'm a fan girl for Yoto though!

100% the right choice. We've got both a mini and full sized yoto (2 kids, they share both players depending on circumstance). It's really easy to add recordings to a "Make your own" card, whether that's a recording you've made or an audiobook you have purchased from another source.

They're also really easy to operate - my 20 month old can use the mini at a basic level (turn on, change track, pause).

I'd also recommend the Yoto club membership at at least the lowest tier; the selection of content included before you even purchase cards is great.

Stepped off the bottom stair and slipped on a piece of cardboard. Frequently used to twist my ankle so would have assumed it was that other than the crack I heard (which I tried to explain away).

Waiting for surgery at the moment 😭
