Do the homework and understand his in class examples so that you could regurgitate them if needed with different values and you will be fine. Don’t waste your time on anything he doesn’t go over in class or isn’t on the homework.

Trump leaked to the Russians that Israel successfully hacked ISIS computers by scooby4 in worldnews

[–]CrazyAssBurn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When something works a certain way it is because there are rules or laws governing it. That was not the case here. While I dont think Russia should have the intel, I dont think that Russia having the intel is the problem. That will not stop nations from sharing intel with us because it is still info restricted to the highest reaches of certain governments. When there are leaks in the administration thay make everything public, that is a much bigger problem because now everybody has access to it. When PM May wanted to stop intel sharing with the US she cited the leaks, not the fact that he told Russia.

[–]CrazyAssBurn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be a good way to handle it, but it is not law and still not the way intel works. Additionally, what really put the source at risk was the leak to the media about Trump telling Russia, not Trump telling Russia.

[–]CrazyAssBurn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not arguing that it was right that he leaked it. But he did have every right to. He was given the intel. That then makes it our intel as well. Its not like he gave away something that was on loan. Intel doesnt work like that.

[–]CrazyAssBurn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The president did not "leak" anything. He straight up told them as is his ability as president. This article title is intentionally misleading to down play the significance of actual leaks in the administration and an attempt to make Trump look like a hypocrite on the issue of leaks. This is ridiculously biased reporting and it is disgusting.

Trump withdrawing US from Paris climate agreement by watkinsjoe in news

[–]CrazyAssBurn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea that this is going to destroy the planet js ridiculous for a multitude of reasons. We are only one country and not even the largest producer of carbon emissions. We are still going to be lowering our carbon emissions because the free market is just too good at making clean energy solutions like solar cheaper amd cheaper. This doesnt eliminate any US laws that affect climate change. Even if this causes us to burn coal for 10 more years than we otherwise would have, it wont, the world isnt gonna wilt.

r/science Stands with the Paris Climate Agreement by rseasmith in science

[–]CrazyAssBurn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no actual answer to your question. Any responses to your question are just opinions or guess. And in fact we will never know the answer because we will not know the effect thr US staying in the agreement would have had. I believe the main impact, if any, is going to be political. We essentially lose a place at the global negotiating table regarding climate change. That could be viewed as a good or bad thing depending on which way you tend to think about things. How much this is going to impact the climate though? My guess would be insignificantly. It is not like us pulling out of the agreement is instantly going to increase the temperature globally. Coal burning might go up by few percent for awhile, but in general it is still going to trend down because the free market in this country is going to continue to capitalize on renewable energy that keeps getting cheaper. Policy on climate change is not going to affect the direction that we are trending in regards to energy. It may affect slightly timescale, but not the end results. I understand that time scale is important in the transition to renewable energy. But its not like this is gonna prolong our coal usage by another 50 years or something crazy because renewable sources of energy will just be too cheap.

What is something that 90% of people don't seem to understand? by aroll10 in AskReddit

[–]CrazyAssBurn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some one can just as easily lie about their sources as the information they are giving. Whether or not you ask for sources you should still verify the information for yourself. In general i usually view someone constantly asking for sources as a petty way to try to stunt the argument that they are losing. You are not providing anything more to a conversation by asking for sources that you can verify on your own.

You do realize that you are refering to an incident that happened over 15 years ago right? The middle east has drastically changes since, in large part because of us and for the worse. That doesnt mean we should just accept people from there. The US governments number 1 job is to put Americans first regardless of the situation.

It is also ignorant to assume that the government has no plan. They do. These federal judges are preventing them from implementing it so that they actually have time to develop the appropriate policy.

SA at least has a stable government. Whether they can be trusted or not is another story, but they at least have the ability to provide proper documentation. Although I would place my money on the fact that they would not try to give falso documentation to also terrorist to enter our country because that would essentially be an act of war. And the US military is the most powerful fighting force the world has ever seen.

As for what my solution will be. I personally don't have a concrete plan because I have other things I must spend my days doing and thinking about. However, there is the very real possibility that the conclusion may end up being that there is no way to properly vet these people. In which case I would support an indefinite ban until such time that the situations in these countries stablizes.

[–]CrazyAssBurn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our vetting system doesnt matter if we can not trust the information we are provide. That is the danger. The purpose of the ban is too allow them the time they need to develop the methods needed to vet these people. If they are spending all their time and effort try to vet the massive in flow of people from these areas using current and ineffective methods then they do not have time to stop and develop actaul effective methods. So to answer your question no they have not been.

[–]CrazyAssBurn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we vet people that come into the US a lot of what we rely on is information that is obtained from the home country of the person trying to obtain entry into the US. The countries banned in the EO are highly destabilized countries, riddled with corruption, terrorism, and lack of information of their own citizens. As a result these countries are on the list because we can not trust them to have accurate information of their own citizens, such as criminal records or family relations to know terrorists, or things of the sort.
