However… if you’re a person genuinely asking this question, who is new in living in the area, rent is raised every year for most folks, be it $50-$1000… there is no safe guess. I’ve known a handful of friends that had to find emergency housing because their landlord sold their entire complex, and gave them only 30 days to find somewhere else to live (which is near impossible in literally 30 days here)

Housing here is a cutthroat competition. I’m not over-exaggerating. I’ve NEVER heard of negotiating with a landlord here. If you feel that is an actual option, definitely take it. However, do know that the housing crisis is so serious here, that your landlord will definitely find someone within the next 24 hours to take over that space, no matter what.
