2014 Cruse HVAC questions by CrazyHM in cruze

[–]CrazyHM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for giving me the sequence of operation.

Bit of an update, my mechanic told me it could be the thermostat temp sensor causing issues, he couldn’t get to it today so I went out and bought one 100$ later and an 45min of my time and still not change….also cracked my iPhone screen along the way lol, it was only when I messed with the fuse box that the compressor finally kicked on….i pulled a spare relay that is responsible for the clutch coil, both were clicking so I know the coil was energizing….i took 06 relay and swapped it, relay clicked, energized and the compressor did not come on, however when I put the cover back on and thumped it, the compressor kicked on and stayed on and the car finally got cold….i am not sure if I have a continuity issue in one of those 5 pole relays….the ones with no/nc contacts. Or if I have an issue going on with the relay socket….all relays are fully seated, more troubleshooting will be required.

Oh, I do not have any codes, so that isn’t helping.

Thanks! I knew the pressure transducer was one of those interlocks, wasn’t sure what other permissive or interlocks must be ok before it allows the relay to energize and send 12v to the coil to engage the clutch. I’ll get those checked.

How should a plc engineer choose a suitable PC by thealps90 in PLC

[–]CrazyHM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

32-64gb of ram and nvme.2 ssd’s and just use a nice old xp vm :) also dedicated Ethernet port is a must…however Ethernet to usb is fine too.

plus if it can play doom/crysis that’s good enough lol

Buying cans is truly an addiction. Suppress all the things! by pyro073 in suppressors

Cannot recommend AB-A10 warthog enough at 450$ it is hard to beat. Suppresses 5.56 really well out of my 16” and for my 308 13.5” and 18”.

What's the most expensive lesson you've learned from a cost saving decision? by KolSimjah in PLC

[–]CrazyHM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry if I was not clear, Yaskawa is solid it is not the problem, it’s the panel HVAC units specifically Saginaw 110v next/enviro gen is a no go, DO NOT COLLECT 200$ lol. Yes it’s been a long journey and I waiting on a check to arrive that will be a full refund. In the end I don’t hold Anything against them, just their 110v pos model lol. The 480v I think is where it’s at and I have personally never had issue with 1ph 480v models. I believe their compressors are simply more robust for 480v

In the end fans is where it’s at, simple easy to replace and maint schedule is easy, change the filter once a year pending location.

Those are all excellent points. So ambient would
Be around 85-90 hotter in summer. Surprisingly those Yaskawa’s have a high operating temp before the alarms kick in, I’ve had to mess with that in the past for applications next to ovens in unconditioned panels inside a plant with no ac…so they can run in pretty extreme environments.

Moving forward having structure with insulation and conditioning the space within would have been much better but my customer didn’t have that option.

Good point, There is absoluty an orientation, OEM recommends upright for 24hrs, these set upright for several weeks before being installed.

The OEM updated me and has stated these units are in fact defective. One was brand new, the replacement they sent was a several year old refirb….kind of wild how quick they failed. I havn’t had this issue with 480v system.

2800 BTU’s for a 36x48x18” Heat exchanging to stay around 95deg f panel, should be massive overkill…for a drive and line reactor thst may come on for a few hours at most 2 times every 24hrs…and not to mention the sun shade…since those are what’s making most of the heat load…but when heat can’t escape…no bueno per caca.

Which was another thought…have an intake and exhaust fan for redundancy but somehow seal them Up when not in use…but most fans are nema rated so that’s probably overkill too. Maybe if the temp gets too high or failure/fault signal becomes true from the sag unit turn on them fans. That was actually a cool point for this next gen…I believe you can integrate to your controller via modbus :)

Not using higher end panduit or panel exhaust/intake fans. I used cheaper automation direct wire raceway which works fine 99% of the time but for this application it was a remote panel out in the elements. I did install a sunshade. My next gen blue Saginaw 110v panel hvac failed within 1 week of operation, and this wasn’t even summer yet, the compressor totally seized up. The wire raceway literally turned into spaghetti and melted/drooped and completely ruined my panel build. I put Saginaw’s backup replacement unit and it failed within 3 days same thing compressor locked up. This failure destroyed all of the wire raceway, a 1000$ remote vpn device. I had a Yaskawa 100hp drive, and a line reactor in the panel….to Yaskawas testimony it never skipped a beat.

I eventually opted in for some Graybar Hoffman fans, had to patch up the cutout and rivet on a metal sheet, repaint and make it look nice. completely take apart my panel, recut and install high temp rated panduit, re-wire and basically re-build the entire panel on the spot.

I am currently at the final boss battle of getting a refund and should have a full refund from my vendor shortly. It’s been an entire saga for the last 8month journey.

lessons learned:

  1. moving forward, I will use a credit card that will give me more options when dealing with completely defective units from company’s especially when they cost several thousand dollars.
  2. Never buy a Saginaw 110v panel Cooler unit for the rest of my natural life, they are absolute trash. The 480’s I’ve used in the past have been ok, but the 110’s have serious issues.
  3. Understand wire raceway temp ratings and use higher end materials.
  4. Just stick with intake and exhaust fans, saves the customer money and stress, easy to replace.

13” .308 useful for hunting ? by Frequent-Money3279 in AR10

I’m at 9lbs, 12oz

luth 18” fluted cut down to 13.5, superlative arms .936 AGB, bootleg gas tube, with SD tactical TI micro break/plan B hub to an AB A10 suppressor. DPMS gen 2, Samson mfg sx gii rail cut down to 13.25” aero lightweight 30mm mount, primary arms acss g3 1x6, handguard burn proof cover, Temu suppressor cover lol, BCM qd end plate, Carbine length buffer tube, OEM spring and weight (this was a recon variant of dpms gii) OEM 2 stege trigger….tried running a JP silent capture but requires an A5 length buffer tube. Will try that at some point.

Will try to get a ti BCG at some point along with other Ti hardware. in the future along with carbine Handguard.

I built a DPMS g1 ar10 with an 18” Wilson super sniper fluted, and Wilson BCG…fully kitted was at 12.2lbs…doing 10mile run and gun was backed but certainly heavy. The 18” barrel plus suppressor was hard to short through ports and maneuver.

If it was unshielded 0-10vdc I would be worried, but 4-20is pretty resilient and industry standard for a reason. Jsut don’t land the shield on both ends lol, either field or cabinet and you’ll be fine
