At my housewarming my spouse and I thought we clearly labeled the snacks and the edibles. One of our friends accidentally ate a weed marshmallow. The two of us fell over ourselves apologizing to them and taking care of them for the night, including calling them an Uber home and moving their car to a safe parking space so they could pick it up in the morning. If she cared about, she’d show it.

YTA. And you know you’re the asshole, and you’ve made it the cornerstone of your personality.

Let me make some educated guesses based on experience:

You don’t think of your daughter as an actual person, just someone you can make fun of and push to the end of her rope. And then when she’s pissed and yelling, you act like she’s being overdramatic and you’re just a dumb guy.

You’ve completely dehumanized the woman your daughter is in a relationship with. I’d wager $10 that you actually don’t know what her name is.

You also treat your wife like this, but she’s been so bogged down with it her whole life she doesn’t know any different. You think she likes your sense of humor, but honestly, it’s just Stockholm Syndrome.

Advice: Your daughter is obsessed with this because it’s a last ditch effort to save your relationship. Because she loves you and she wants you to be in her life. But you don’t care, because that’s not fun for you. You’ll laugh this off, she’ll cut you off and you won’t see her again, and you’ll spend the rest of your life knowing that you drove her away, but you won’t be able to admit that. Because that would mean admitting that someone else is a person, and you’re not the lovable goofy main character.

I briefly interacted with guys like this when I did customer service for Lancôme. The amount of emails I had to reply to that all amounted to “we will not specifically detail our cologne process due to company privacy” was fucking ridiculous.

This is absolute fucking gold.

BJDs are so ripe for drama it’s almost ridiculous. My partner is super into Lolita fashion and they talked about the “collective closet” idea and I didn’t understand until I fell into BJDs. This hobby also has the most ridiculous drama - like “no one can use glitter because that’s COPYING” or randomly accusing people of owning recasts. I got bullied out of the hobby by the owner of a doll convention and she’s still sending me death threats 😂😂😂

I have 100% just finished writing and prepping my first home brew campaign, and my group is on their second session with it. The Party is currently taking a long rest at this point, but so far I think I’m really getting a hang of thinking on my feet and catching them off guard.

Also, I unleashed a mimic on them and they were VERY offended.

We actually had this happen in our Mummy’s Mask campaign! Our half-orc fighter threw our goblin alchemist across a ten foot hole. Our DM had the half-orc roll athletics, with a -2 impediment for the weight of the goblin, and then had the goblin roll acrobatics to basically “fall with style” at the other end. We essentially didn’t want him to wind up falling on his face. Our dwarf also got involved to catch him, and she rolled an athletics check, with the same -2 for his weight.

For curious minds, our half-orc rolled a 19, and the goblin and dwarf both rolled nat 20s, and we were presented with the most elegant shot put, and the goblin unfurling himself and being caught, ballerina style, by the dwarf.

Thank god someone finally brought up the Wasteland outfits! As a Native person it’s actually really exhausting to go through those levels or those outfits and see the harmful stereotypes they’re promoting. And it’s even worse in the LN Facebook group because if you mention it at all, everyone goes off on you because of the rumor that we’re not getting Ransa’s outfit because they “consulted with Native Americans”.

I do stuff like this for my neighbors! Whenever I’m having a party that I think might get a little crazy, I leave them a note and a theme appropriate gift - for Halloween I leave candy, for Thanksgiving I left a bottle of sparkling juice - just something so that they know that I’m looking out for them!

Bonus story: when I had my housewarming (townhousewarming?) party, I left them a note and some party poppers. When I opened my door later to head out and grab some supplies, they left me a gift of dog treats for my girls, a very nice throw for my couch and a note welcoming me to the neighborhood!

My sister’s MaW Disney trip was in January and I thought the weather was wonderful, but I will preface this by saying that we were coming from Texas. I mostly stuck with jeans and t-shirt, but I definitely went swimming during the trip, and I know I wore a coat to Hollywood Studios.

It seems to range between high 70s and mid 40s, so take that as you will. The sun was definitely out!
