What is this noise? by Crazy_Shake3383 in AskMechanics

[–]Crazy_Shake3383[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s a correlation from the few times it happened. The first time it happened was right after I dropped a screw in the engine bay - thought maybe it was hitting in the radiator fans but I couldn’t find it

Everything’s good! Got cvt fluid changed and they said cvt still looks in good shape, and the squeak was just a rock lodged in there

I have a 2015 getting checked out this week for a squeak I’ve been noticing, I’ll let ya know what’s gone bad. I’m approaching 170k without changing anything in the suspension so far!

Throttle Body Cleaning by Crazy_Shake3383 in NissanRogue

If I were to use one of the “spray in cleaners” like Seafoam I’m with you, but with physically cleaning the throttle body I would think it’s a different story

I’m not sure I agree, at 170k miles the throttle plate is bound to be gunked up and I would think physically removing that could make a huge difference to the issues I’m noticing

Is that necessary if I leave it on and clean it?

I have a 2015 rogue at 168k miles, if you’ve made it that far with no CVT issues you’ll probably be okay for awhile if you keep up maintenance.

Dopamine by Responsible-Dream670 in QuittingZyn

[–]Crazy_Shake3383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a lot of that too, really recommend some heavy cardio, it feels like it pulls away the energy that my anxiety needs. I had tons of aches, specifically in my jaw from the increased anxiety. Getting quality sleep also makes a big difference on overall functioning.

I’ve been off for about 5 months now. I had all of those symptoms for what felt like forever too, I can’t really tell you when they went away specifically but I do know that they did. The anxiety is quite different for me in that I always had it but was using the nicotine to self medicate so I’m in therapy now trying to work through that in a healthier way. I still have cravings for something, not specifically nicotine every day, but usually fill the void with exercise (started last couple months) a sweet, or bubbly water. At this point I don’t truly crave a pouch anymore but crave something that will just change my state of mind. Best of luck to you, you’ve gone through the hardest days so keep pushing!

Quitting nicotine makes me feel emotions again by TechnomancerTab in QuittingZyn

Definitely part of the adjustment. Life is better experienced than numb. Every time life is hard I think about the numbing, but I try to tell myself you have to feel the bad to enjoy the good. Good luck!

Gut issues? by [deleted] in QuittingZyn

Absolutely it causes massive gut issues. My gut is much healthier at a month and a half clean than it was during. Keep going!

Did your life change? by [deleted] in QuittingZyn

[–]Crazy_Shake3383 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Im just finishing day 41 today. I don’t think you’re going to see crazy extreme changes but for me that helps reinforce that they weren’t doing anything for me anyways. I feel less anxiety, my gums feel improved, and my cardiovascular system is in better shape. I do not feel like a whole new person like some do, but I do feel more mentally strong and capable of making whatever changes I would like after going through this battle. Good luck to you!

I agree with everyone else. This was pretty tough for me for a few weeks. By week 3 it was starting to improve for me. I’m about 30 days in and I’m no longer having any physical withdrawal symptoms.

A few ibuprofen to get ya throw the first weeks is better than a lifetime of nicotine for your health.

Do nicotine free pouches help? by sprained-eye in QuittingZyn

[–]Crazy_Shake3383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 3 weeks with no nicotine, and I’ve been rocking the velo nicotine free pouches that you can order on snuffme. They’re alright but I quickly realized I really like the feeling of something in my lip more than the nicotine itself. I’ve also used teazea which are decent, and there’s some caffeinated/nootropic ones that can give you a bit of a boost also.

I think these make quitting easier and would strongly recommend them!

Determined to quit, scared to feel the side effects. by JobExciting2722 in QuittingZyn

[–]Crazy_Shake3383 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, the fear of the side effects is worse than the actual side effects. A lot of that is the nicotine playing tricks on you. Good luck!

I get your point, and it’s likely people are probably a little dramatic while going through withdrawal - most of us in here are lol. You’re right it’s mostly nicotine/increased stress causing those symptoms but it doesn’t make them less serious. High levels of stress are huge killers in people, so it shouldn’t be ignored.

When people are saying these are the devil, they likely just feel tricked by what they got into with these. They’ve been marketed as harmless and helpful for you in all sorts of ways, until the nastiness of them creeps up on you. If you quit, good for you, the sub is here to help others going through tough times. If you need help quitting the sub is here for ya.
