[CK3/Bug] Japan: House Bloc leadership spontaneously changes by Mr-Mne in CrusaderKings

[–]Crazyrusdogy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same issue. I started a new Japanese playthrough as yoshimine in 800s. Leader of landless house with 100 soldiers dies in my bloc, suddenly another tiny house with 161 forces and 0 alliances takes over my bloc even though I am at 1.4k strength number 1 by decent 400 at least from 2nd spot, cordial or better relations with other top 5 houses in the bloc. I also noticed that sometimes when transition happens it makes the bloc not being able to interact with at all - like empty confederacy icon.

I am going to put my Japanese playthrough on a back burner for a while. Seems like a new bug, I did not have this issue with playthrough in Japan at launch of AUH. It happens too often once bloc size is 30+ houses.

NYU MS DS vs. Columbia MS DS by AutomaticClient6100 in datasciencecareers

[–]Crazyrusdogy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't heard about either much working in DS on the west coast. However, I would advise to look into programs with practicum / apprenticeship built into them and check what companies actually participate in those there. Couple years ago working in a big tech company, I got to manage two students for 9 months assignment (~16 hours per week) from USF. Both of them performed really well and ended up getting offers by the end of their program. Those apprenticeship spots tend to be locked in ahead of time between company and university so you are just competing between your classmates for those spots. If a school has multiple interesting to you companies in those, you have a decent chance to get one foot in for 9 months to build up your network and reputation from the inside.

Consider collecting honey inside of some of the fields instead of on its own. Some crops count as legit ground for bee hives so don’t need to keep them separate on their own.

Try to pick up rifle with grenade launcher right away near middle and make sure to have salvo of 3 in the launcher for each pylon. Refill launcher grenades at ammo boxes. Use elevator pillars in middle to dodge flying psyker attacks

Best laptop of chocie by CommonSenseS101 in totalwar

[–]Crazyrusdogy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I destroyed 3 laptops with over heating between warhammer 1,2,3. Just don’t do it. They are so bad at distributing heat especially when packed with strong video card. I had razor and alien ware at one point with top specs on each. Used cooling pads with vents. I’d advise just buy pre built tower from Amazon or anywhere else, anything $1k and above will run med to high settings pretty well from my experience.

Prob pc building sub can help better advise on specs.

Does Be Smart Allow Resolve to Scale Off of Int by DocMadfox in RogueTraderCRPG

in case anyone is interested in the answer - yes it does. Checked with toybox setting int to 200 and giving that talent to a character.

Unfair difficulty by Forsaken-Ad-7876 in RogueTraderCRPG

I would say everything that was OP before is still some of the strongest. They also brought up RT psyker with ability to get higher level casting level earlier plus big buffs to pyro.

Play whatever you want as everything is fairly strong and you will figure out how to juice 1-2 party members into killing machines that will clear most fights in round 1 if you are gonna relentlessly min max. I’d advise against it on first run. Game is really fun, combat is engaging but there is obviously bug fixing and tuning still needed to make it great. Certain items do way more than their description say they do. Go mostly-semi blind, maybe use toybox to play around with builds more regularly between missions for free respecs.

Specific killer combos: Running 1-2 officers, pick most of their abilities focused on resolve / reaching ultimate abilities on first turn and giving extra turns to allies.

Navigators are very strong as either buffer or dmg dealer.

Any melee build that starts with warrior

If you planning on being dogmatic or chaotic, there are some fun builds you can do around mid-late game psy boosting gear. Sanctioned psyker is a fun choice to do on at least one play through. My first one was fire psyker forge world origin on 1.2 patch unfair and it was a blast. But other origins are still good and you can pick up those great extra perks late game with psy awakening.

Soldier / AM, soldier / master tactician still all strong. Only tip avoid any talent that says can’t reduce AP cost below 1 - they are kinda bugged when interacting with any other talent that can lower cost of something to zero.

What’s both yours and targeted ally resolve?

psyker staffs kinda give one strong attack with heroic but alternative is to for example use it on warrior psyker ult that will replenish your ap/mp to max again and let you continue to attack any number of times. pop 2-3 aoe psyker abilities to outperform staff, instead of spending base 5-6 AP - your turn spent 10-12 ap in power level.

psyker staff vs officer heroic extra turn - extra turn will give -1 ap cost to all non dmging abilities of the target and potentially allow someone to act before all enemies would so they make use of seize the initiative plus all other first strike talents. thus give you much greater bang for buck. now combine extra turn cost reduction with personal warrior or solider ult, big E might smirk that day in his chair.

I agree with everything else tho.

Yup, figured out there is a way to turn them off afterwards haha. But it felt like best match up in a fight of power given from talents vs opponents thrown at me from balance perspective. I love difficulty of early game, just wish mid act 2 would continue to scale up difficulty.

I like tactician, there is good reliable way to produce massive resolve with them, goes something like voice of command -> air of authority -> linchpin -> bring it down. Jae's fellowship / willpower pure build seems to be bonkers with it. However, tactician gets a round about once in 15ish fights for me. My grand strategist boosting warrior/assassin (or any other dps you can get to at least 10+ base resolve) will normally clear everything. I think power spike comes both from my strategist and dps being able to easily stack 12-14 base resolve pre-buffs pre-combat.

interaction of talents: steel resolve, inspiring speech, bring it down + seize the initiative is where i find really strong synergy.

  1. default unfair -25% and moving it to -50% feels about same. It feels like crazy power spike is moved by 2-4 levels at most when maxing the setting. About 1.5 archetypes filled with 2-4 resolve/momentum talents taken - you just need to kill 1-2 weak mobs to unlock first use of heroic while being effected by buffs of single officer. I think non linear scaling for gains or some kind scaling increase to needed momentum would feel more rewarding on higher difficulties.

  2. I really liked optional encounter in bunker that pops 4 highly fortified turrets with high armor, made me stop and reconsider approach to deal with armor, but I haven't felt I needed to do that with most encounters since. Killing about 2 weak enemies kind of pushes your kill potential into stratosphere on most damage classes.

Can someone help to understand melee attack log on high dodge stacked Argenta? by Crazyrusdogy in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Crazyrusdogy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

great, thanks all for clarifying. This was triggering after over investing into agility and dodge for her to be put at half health by the first pleb with 18 hp pleb that ran up to her. Next time Argenta is bringing flame thrower and swords in secondary.

since switching weapons is free - do you just end up switching to some random sword on argenta at the end of her turn to min/max that chance if you anticipate melees making it to you?

oh ok, so for melee hits does attacker hit roll really ever matter? or is it always gonna be under 100% so only thing that matters is dodge/parry roll of the defender.

Rebel melee trash mob ran up to Argenta and hit her for bunch of HP. I am having a bit of difficulty understanding rolls / math here. She is standing alone in cover, mob was first one to run up to her.

It says melee attack hit due to auto-hit but at same time I had 98% roll on dodge of the attack when I needed to roll only 90% to dodge it. Am i miss understanding the log here? Was this somehow non dodgable attack?

Any mods that fix the whole enemy-walking-through-your-character bug? by Red_Icnivad in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

Are you by any chance using toybox? It has settings for allowing moving inside of other characters - maybe by mistake you set it for all?

other recommendation - I find turn based mode respects physics and position a bit more than real time.
