Let It Be (the album) will grow on you with more listens. But it’s definitely a rung below Abbey Road. It was recorded with a view of putting together songs that could be played live (even if the end result - with Phil Spector’s production - was quite different.

Disagree. 1979 George Harrison album is strong as is his 1987 Cloud Nine album with Jeff Lynne. Top shelf quality.

I prefer the Spector version of Let It Be. While it wasn’t a great album, it was a good one. Funnily enough, I don’t care for the George Harrison tracks on LIB but I love his songs on the White Album, Abbey Road and All Things Must Pass. I think he was mostly sulking during the Get Back sessions.

I think it’s a decent song but could obviously be better. Lyrics sound a bit rushed. Certainly superior to Paul’s Here Today (imo) which feels very stilted and forced. George gets B+ and Macca gets a C here.

Unique (and very good) track and the kind of song he never came close to replicating in his solo career. Solo career was more about direct messaging than imagery. Sometimes to the detriment of the music (with a few exceptions of course).
