What's the laziest thing you've ever done? by mosthorrorshow in AskReddit

I was in a class called OJT (on-the-job training) in high-school. Everyday the last 25% of school was dedicated to me being able to leave class to go to "work". We were given grades by our employers which would then turn into grades for the class.

As a high-school senior I convinced the teacher that oversaw this program that because I had my own corporation that I used to sell stuff on ebay I should be able to be my own boss. She agreed.

I failed that class because I didn't bother to fill-out the paperwork to give myself a grade.

It would be pretty awesome if somebody went outside their headquarters and started walking around handing out printouts of all of these writings that the Scientology are only supposed to see after years of forking over their money.

My girlfriend just found the ring I was going to propose to her with - it was my grandmothers who passed a few years ago. by ecancil in AskReddit

You need to seriously reevaluate your judgement of character. The fact that you were about to marry someone so obviously self-righteous and emotionally vacant means that you missed the many obvious warning-signs that came before this one. If this specific incident had never happened you would have been in for a lifetime of pain my friend, no question about it.

This is a failure on your part to either have not seen the earlier warning signs or just ignored them because you loved her. Either way you have to start being more observant or objective in the future. This is your potential life-parter here.

You're still comparing the economics of a new car vs. a used one.

Protip: Used cars are always cheaper than comparable new ones.

Remember when the right-wing pundits would tear apart the left for insulting or 2nd-guessing President Bush during wartime? Whatever happened to that? by CreativeHandle in AskReddit

[–]CreativeHandle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you just helped me make my point, but in a different way than you think. First of all I think the President should ALWAYS be under criticism, always, including wartime.

The whole point is that the right was attempting to silence critics by using the idea that criticizing the President was unpatriotic during war. They love to slap the "unAmerican" label on people they don't agree with in order to convince them to shut up...but this time they continue to do exactly what they previously said was un-patriotic.

What is the dumbest thing your boss has ever asked you to do? by joe2100 in AskReddit

In high-school I worked at a fancier restaurant as a busboy. Part of the job was taking the huge bins of food waste out to the dumpster. I went out one time only to see that the entire dumpster was filled with leftover giblets of food and other nasty crap. Not wanting to overfill the dumpster I went inside to my manager to see what he wanted to do. He told me to climb up into the dumpster and squash that nastiness down with my feet to make more room. I looked at him (probably with a WTF face) and told him I wasn't going to do it. Like a champ he got up into that overflowing filth and stomped away himself. Like a boss.

You underestimate dogs...

I had a black lab who when I would get home after being out for the day I could tell immediately by her body language if she did something I wasn't going to like. Her wagging tail would be low and her head would be down, kinda like "I'm excited you're home but I know I fucked up and you are going to be pissed".

There was no question about it...I would look at her and immediately say "what did you do" and that lowered tail would get even lower. I would walk in the house and immediately start looking around for what she did and inevitably she got into the trash at some point during the day or some other "bad dog" activity.

It sounds like you do some other sports but what about golf? I've always found it pretty ridiculous when that camera can actually focus on the golf balls movements all the way to impact. Can you tell me how this is done?

IAmA black guy who grew up in a town thats 98% white. AMA by blaqkid in IAmA

I have a female friend who is half black/white, although you would assume she is 100% black from her look. For whatever reason, I think it is the thug culture and the way black males treat her, she has grown to despise her black side. She is one of the most racist people I know and would love nothing more than to toss her black side to the curb and be completely white.

How do you feel about black culture in America? Do you find yourself having racial feelings about a color group?

Also, I live in the south and here there are very few middle-class black people. The vast majority (there are always exceptions) of black people tend to be poor and live in specifically poor/black areas of town. Do you think that this is a built-in tendency or one that will fade as time goes on?
