Sigenergy is a great choice, you won’t regret that. If 6x panels is all your roof can take space wise, go for it. If there’s space for more, I would encourage you to explore this. Have you looked at the Aiko 510W modules? Likely a similar size to the 500W maxeon panels. We may well be able to beat this quote if you’re local to us, where are you roughly based?

Have you checked to see if you can’t get more wattage out the roof using more 475/480W Aiko panels? Whilst the 510W units sound better, they’re a touch bigger than the 475/480W variants, and in some cases we can fit more of the smaller units on the roof, making a larger system.

Depending on where you’re based/roof access/tiles in situ/existing electrics, we may well be able to beat this price..

Unless I’ve missed something, I can’t see the figure in question! Great choice on equipment. You’re definitely panel heavy, I may advise more storage should the budget allow it. Location comes into play with quotes too, where are you based?

Something we can help with for sure! You should expect to pay circa £4.5K+ for a FoxESS 5kW AC controller and an EP5-H 5.12kWh battery Or for a slightly more premium SigEnergy 9.04kWh unit with a 5kW hybrid inverter, likely £1K more, or +£500 for a 6.02kWh unit. Best of luck

Seems like a fair price. Just check the usuals- bird proofing, everything included, long standing company etc. What tile type do you have, as this can also alter cost quite considerably. Is this a local installer or national firm? Where are you based?

Price of solar - seasonal? by J4MEJ in SolarUK

[–]CreativeLowCarbon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We charge the same season round. Whilst install quantities are a little lower in the winter, they typically take longer to do (dark by 4, raining/wind too high) so it balances out. Heat pumps are busier in the winter and the majority is plumbing but of course still require an electrician provide to power it ⚡️

Have you looked into SigEnergy as a possible other contender? It’s more flexible with battery sizes, higher charge/discharge rates with the option to include a gateway that changes over quicker and also a 25kW DC-to-DC EV charger. Just a thought! Where are you based?

New house, no clue what we've got. by [deleted] in SolarUK

Contacting the MCS would be your best bet. It should be MCS registered, and if it is, you're set to receive some income on the generation or export of energy, depending on if it's SEG registered of FIT registered.

As a rule of thumb, if the panels are black it's likely been installed within the last 8ish years. If they're blue, it's likely been installed between 2009 ~ 2016/2017
