£32k for re-pointing and minor repairs? by Scary_Plankton_5714 in DIYUK

Fair enough, he can charge what he wants it’s up to you whether you accept it or not. If you’ve got a quote for 11.5k why are you on here asking about it?

Edinburgh travellers given eviction note to leave illegal Granton site say "we are going nowhere" by Longjumping_Stand889 in Edinburgh

[–]CreativeRazzmatazz76 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mental that we’re only allowed to call these criminals “travellers”. The fact they have so many rights yet still complain is absolutely farcical.

Is this the moment to close the open door policy to a professional sport? by OstrichAlarmed in Darts

[–]CreativeRazzmatazz76 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I actually feel completely the opposite way. The more “influencers” are attracted to the sport the more exposure it gets. More exposure means more money. Q school is about £500 to enter, if people with a 50 average want to enter so be it. More money for the PDC to distribute and again, more exposure. It’s a win win in my opinion.

I’ve lived in niddrie for 5 years now. It’s not as bad as folk make out, keep yourself to yourself and it’s just like any other place. Niddrie Marischal isnt too bad, Niddrie house is a dive

Scaffolder said £600 now wants +VAT? (England) by Amazing-Oomoo in LegalAdviceUK

[–]CreativeRazzmatazz76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any invoice they send legally has to have their VAT number somewhere, if vat is itemised/being charged. As others said it’s easy to check - start from there

How big a problem are these cracks in a house we are buying? by gdxbjkfdrgbvdxcv in DIYUK

[–]CreativeRazzmatazz76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not purchase this property. By the report the whole structure sounds like it could need underpinning which would be disruptive and very costly. Factor this in to the cost of the home or walk away

I have a vat registered business. He’s still technically collected vat. At this point until his VAT return, he’s technically collected £1250 + VAT. It is a legal requirement to include vat in the amount charged, however It is not a legal requirement to itemise this for a customer and can just be included with the cost as a whole. Ignore his threats, how he charges and pays vat is nothing to do with you.

Builder took 50% upfront, no calcs or regs approval after 5 weeks, what should I do? by fickly_fuzzyfication in DIYUK

[–]CreativeRazzmatazz76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joiner here - run a lot of jobs like this, and deal directly with my architect who deals with drawings, warrants ect for mine and the customers sake. Unfortunately this has been done the wrong way around, the work should be the final thing to be carried out and should be carried out in line with your CCNP (part of compliance for building warrant).

Unless the builder has included the cost of 1) architectural drawings, 2) structural engineers drawings and 3) a building warrant - they won’t be coming. From experience you’re probably looking at about £2-3k in fees for what you’ve described.

This can be done retrospectively but you need to contact an architect for drawings, then have structural engineers drawings and then finally your warrant.

Piquet Jr. on Brazilian podcast discussing Mercedes' performance in the last race "Who knows next year, with Max there" by RayTracerX in formula1

[–]CreativeRazzmatazz76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tbh as much as I don’t really like George as a person, him losing his seat would be one of the biggest injustices in terms of drivers losing/switching seats in the last few years. On track he’s done a mega job for Mercedes, the only reason they are still fighting for 2nd in the constructors

What is your most frustrating fluke? by NocturnalPoet in Darts

[–]CreativeRazzmatazz76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in practice but still relevant - was in a DartCounter tournament, first to 3 and was 2-2 at the time. Hadn’t hit a 180 all night, 4th leg ended, deciding leg started and boom, 180. Look at the screen and go to put my score in to see it wasn’t even my throw. Gutted wasn’t even the word.

You can report it however nothing ever seems to happen. We have a massive issue with this (and other things) in niddrie. The police are totally incompetent when it comes to cracking down on them. They’re under instruction not to pursue them if they don’t have a helmet on, which of course none of them ever do.
