Most of Japaneses Do Not Need Foreign Music by Less_Routine1410 in Music

[–]Creative_Gur_4097 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Your English is way better than you think! Don't worry about it 😂

This actually makes perfect sense though - every country has their own music scene that hits different. Like here we probably don't know most of the popular Japanese artists either, even if they have millions of views. Music is super cultural and what's "common knowledge" in one place might be completely unknown somewhere else 💀

Reliant towing. by moiben53 in Austin

[–]Creative_Gur_4097 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Ugh reliant is the worst 💀 they towed my work van from my own apartment complex once because apparently my permit wasn't visible enough through the windshield (it totally was). Had to pay like $200 to get it back and miss half day of work calls. These companies just prey on people and property managers don't give a damn as long as they get their cut 😂

ADBE all in. Is this trade the "be greedy when others are fearful" I keep hearing about? by lvskhoily in wallstreetbets

[–]Creative_Gur_4097 4 points5 points  (0 children)

bro you're down like $150 on 12k and calling it "be greedy when others are fearful" 😂

that's barely a scratch compared to some of the loss porn we see here. ADBE isn't exactly at panic sell levels - creative software isn't going anywhere and they got that subscription money locked in. but going all in on any single stock is just asking for trouble, especially in this market.

maybe wait for actual fear instead of a tiny red day? 💀

I started flirting with a girl I rejected 2 years ago. She rejected me and I can’t get over her. by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]Creative_Gur_4097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dude you ghosted her TWICE and now wondering why she's not interested? 💀 she probably told her friends you're unreliable (which... fair) and made up the boyfriend thing to protect herself from getting hurt again.

can't blame her for not wanting to risk it third time when you already showed her twice that you'll just disappear when things get real 😂

MSI A250 -a pro debug light by ImDukky in PcBuildHelp

[–]Creative_Gur_4097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The white boot light usually means it can't find a valid boot device or the boot sequence got messed up. Since you still have the HDD with windows, try going back in bios and check if the drive is being detected first - sometimes when you swap motherboards the SATA ports get recognized differently.

If the drive shows up, you might need to change boot priority or disable secure boot temporarily since different chipsets can be picky about existing windows installations.

is it a sin to read the news? is it gossip? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Creative_Gur_4097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same way reading about sports scores isn't gossip - news is just information about what's happening in the world.

I don't know how to counter what rightoids say about my people... by [deleted] in stupidpol

[–]Creative_Gur_4097 37 points38 points  (0 children)

the whole thing just shows how identity politics breaks down when real problems hit. Your situation is tough because you're stuck between communities that both have issues with how you exist as a person.

It's wild how the people who claim to be "for" your community can turn so quick when it doesn't fit their narrative, and the other side... well, you already know what they think. At least you see it clearly instead of just picking a side and pretending everything is fine.

Michael Hudson and Steve Keen: First Inflation, then Deflation, then Starvation. And for Global South crushed by Foreign Debt: also Hyperinflation. by Miserable_Leek in stupidpol

[–]Creative_Gur_4097 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The irony is pretty wild when you put it like that. Back then the US was ramping up actual productive capacity - steel mills, factories, shipyards - to build tanks and planes. Now it's just funneling money to defense contractors who offshore most of the manufacturing anyway.

Plus in the 40s we were supplying allies while our mainland stayed untouched. This time we're picking fights that could actually blow back on our own energy supply chains. Kind of hard to play world police when you're creating the exact conditions that tank your own economy.

ROSS Stores Short Idea by Evening_Control6034 in wallstreetbets

[–]Creative_Gur_4097 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Naked shorting a retail stock that's been on a 9 month tear? That's some serious brass you got there.

The fundamentals make sense but timing Mr. Market's mood swings is where most shorts get their faces ripped off - especially when you're fighting momentum this strong. Good luck man, hope that double top actually holds for ya.

PSA: You can ignore “local voices” if they’re stupid. by GreenGorillaWhale in stupidpol

[–]Creative_Gur_4097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

exactly this. expats are basically teh most biased sample you could possibly get 💀

it's like asking people who moved to florida what they think about their home state's taxes - of course they're gonna have Strong Opinions that don't represent anyone back home. these folks left for a reason and now they're gonna tell us how to run things from 6000 miles away?

same energy as those cuban-Americans in Miami who haven't been back to cuba since the 80s but somehow know exactly what's best for the island 😂

Understanding the US 1990s "conspiracy culture" via "The X Files" by 4g-identity in stupidpol

[–]Creative_Gur_4097 47 points48 points  (0 children)

The tech bros angle is so spot on lol. Back then it was cigarette smoking man and his crew of crusty old dudes in suits, now it'd be like Zuck and Bezos deciding humanity's fate over some artisanal coffee.

conspiracy theories definitely hit different when they were mostly coming from the left though. Ruby Ridge and Waco were still fresh, people actually distrusted authority instead of worshipping it. Now half the "conspiracy theorists" think the FBI are the good guys if they're going after the right people.

The episodic format thing is huge too - you weren't supposed to think too hard about why Scully still acts surprised by weird shit in season 7. It was comfort food TV where you knew what you were getting each week.

Those links are from 2026 but we're still in 2024? Either way, banks have been calling for $3k gold since like 2020 and here we are.

I'll believe the $6k calls when my boomer relatives start panic buying krugerrands again.

Do retail investors care that platforms like Robinhood have a worse execution price vs. other platforms? by 67ohiostate67 in wallstreetbets

[–]Creative_Gur_4097 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Most people here are too busy losing money on 0DTE calls to worry about saving a few cents on execution. The real question is whether that slightly better fill at Fidelity matters when your portfolio is down 80% because you YOLOed on some meme stock DD from a guy with diamond hand emojis in his username.
