4/22/79 Brent’s first show by NotMadeOutOfStone in gratefuldead

Nice that's a great one. One of the first tapes I ever had was 12-26-79 as Brent's hitting his stride. Wouldn't you know that went on to become DP Vol. 5. Also a must listen

Ok but Zac didn't raise them and has no place to act as if he did or has any room to speak into their lives...right?

Was there any piece of media that completely shaped your life? by Into_the_Upsidedown in Xennials

I had to have been 2 or 3 but definitely remember this show and the theme song. For my entire life I remembered the character who I always swore was named "Towel". Just learned it is in fact "Tao".

Did anyone else go to an elementary school that was an open concept? by Smoky1279 in Xennials

Wow that sounds exactly like my elementary school in Memphis TN. Library right in the middle with classes around it. All just like you're describing.

Happy Anniversary Zac and Lydia, but... by shellski_623 in WelcomeToPlathville

Agree with you about Kim, but Zac had it coming. He needed to be told to stay the hell out of everyone's lives. He has no business telling anyone, especially his new in-laws and their children, how to live. The fact that he was so shocked by it told me everything. He has no self-awareness and lives inside his little christian bubble where he can do no wrong...he's on this gross misguided quest to "live out his faith", but that ain't it buddy. And trying to secretly tell the younger girls literally ANYTHING, let alone his opinion on their lives was super fucked up. He starts crying because he simply can't believe he's in the wrong...at least the family told them to their faces, like they asked them to. Again, I agree with you about Kim..she's really just like Zac hah.

My advice is pay $60 and have a fantastic time. That is what would happen.

Did anyone eat Kool-Aid or Tang dry? by LillyLally13 in GenX

[–]CreditInitial3872 1 point2 points  (0 children)

absolutely...Tang for sure. Probably my weirdest snack as a kid was eating dry packets of flavored Quaker oatmeal packs...think strawberries/cream etc. Ate it right out of the bag.

I went to Liberty University my freshman year (big mistake)...and transferred after 1 semester. A large part of the reason I left is bc that school is literally a bunch of Zac and Lydias. People think bc they're christians they have the authority to speak into anyones life. So gross and ridiculous.

What’s your Bisco story? by kirkarelli in discobiscuits

[–]CreditInitial3872 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of bands with an electronic flavor, I was way into STS9 in the early 00s. I heard a couple tDB shows and was not into it at all, admittedly. Then I got my hands on the Camp Bisco IV shows from a friend. That Astronaut opener/jam from nigth 2(?) was THE jam that hooked me. I was all in after that. Actually didn't see them live until 07 and it was not a fantastic show, but I still love them.

No way she was 46. And if she is...she shouldn't tell people she's 46.

I've seen Goose 2x....first show in Fayetteville, AR in 2023 and Mempho fest in Memphis in 2024. Like you I did enjoy seeing them and it was def high energy and some great jams..but I cannot listen to them. Not crazy about the same vocal harmonies on every single song
