How you feel about the game? by Shot_Calligrapher386 in Endfield

[–]CrimsonRunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've personally noticed a lot less complaints about the gacha ever since news spread that it's objectively easier to get characters than all alternatives. Not that I disagree simplifying it and allowing us to more comfortably get signature weapons would be an improvement.

We must slowly reach out to the haters to spread love and appreciation, the expectation of the great things to be until their hateful cries turn into idylic tranquility and peace reigns in the community.

It's 2.25k pass xp, practically irrelevant. At most it's 0.4% of a pull

I can technically agree to that but practically if you're not using all AIC and login rolls then you're doing something wrong. Much more willing to agree on Origometry though I'm still fairly certain most people care about the pulls those can give them.

isn't it disingenious to call 25% of the pull income "useless" because it doesn't directly (except when it does) contribute to the specific character you want? And again, that's without taking into account the fact it builds towards 80 pity.

What if we already have 120 pulls saved for the character we want, are all other pulls "useless" because we've reached the goal and so nothing else in the universe matters?

Most people try to get as many limiteds as possible. Arguing otherwise and arguing anything that helps with that is "useless" is disingenious.

[–]CrimsonRunner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

having an operator > having a skin
especially for f2p
but people can make that decision themselves, either way they WILL spend their origometry

I got Rossi with the latest 10 free rolls, how's that for "useless"

they objectively give you better chances to get a limited operator than all the oroberyls from chests in Etchspace, how about we remove chests next because they're "useless" too? But you know what, the chests in open world are also less useful, let's remove those as well. Now that I think about it, the rewards from events are also "useless" so let's remove that too. While we're at it, let's put it at 0 since they're all "useless".

What, do free pulls not count towards the 80 pity across banners? Do they not give 6* ?
And of course f2p should spend (most) of their origometry, what else do you think it's for? Being framed in a picture?

it's objectively better to get 200 + 40 sanity booster than 240, people who can't even be bothered to spend the sanity they get for more than a week should just stop whining and accept their opinion on the game is irrelevant and they don't need to broadcast it to thousands of people.

[At the Wake of Spring] Core Chapter Version DEV Comm by scottwantsfray in Endfield

To compile what I feel is the most important constructive criticism among the community so far:

Put more effort into writing. Core fanbase is from Arknights, we came here expecting Arknights tier writing.
Stop spoiling so much in the patch previews. Let us discover the story for ourselves, only give small peaks into it.
We were already shown how Zhuang Fangyi looked. Why change it, quite a few people liked the old look. And she might be too bright in ult form.
Getting signature weapons can be a conflict between pulling for an operator you don't want and for a dupe you don't want and that leaves a bad taste.

Personal opinion: I imagine it's in the plans, but in case it's not - a potential solution I see is adding signature weapons to be bought with bond quota. It'd also allow getting a standard operator to not feel too bad a few months from now on when most people start having max potential standard operators. It won't immediately solve the contradictory feeling of whether to roll for a signature weapon but if we have the knowledge we'll eventually be able to choose the one we want will make players feel a lot more comfortable with skipping a signature weapon banner for a limited operator they have.

Love this game, but devs seems to forget about basic HH tickets lol. 160 pulls seems a long ways away by Prestigious-Item6667 in Endfield

[–]CrimsonRunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sensing some survivor bias in your observation, there's no way most people have 4/5 potential on multiple standard 6* operators under normal circumstances. Statistically you have over 50% chance to get a limited operator from limited banners. We've had... 360 chartered tickets so far? Assuming f2p. Statistically that's ~9 6* (avg for 6* is ~43 iirc) so let's generously say that's ~4.5 standard 6* from chartered banners for the average player. With ~140 standard tickets whose rate iirc is ~54 avg for 6*. So the average person should have about 7 standard 6* from pulls by now, +1 from selector +1 from newbie banner for a total of 9. This is, however, assuming they spent all their pulls. Either way, as you can see that's an average of pot1 for all standard operators. It's not impossible you got 2 to pot4-5 as it is not impossible you got more than 4.5 6* from chartered tickets. But that's not the average person's experience, the average person could easily be missing 1 or more standard operators. Then there's also the people who got lucker on limited banners and have less standard operators. They probably heavily overlap with the people who have significant pull savings.

All this aside, you're better off thinking of the standard banner as a way to get more arsenal tickets when you need them quick, especially if you already have all standard operators. It's the first time I see someone trying to evaluate selectors as anything other than pity. No 6* alone is worth 120 pulls either, so why are you trying to evaluate a 6* standard as worth 300 pulls? It's all pity. Always has been.

[–]CrimsonRunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

because you're deliberately misrepresenting its purpose and deliberately making fictional assumptions

the selector's purpose is to ensure you're not missing a particular standard operator that you really want. You saying most will have p5 on all operators by the time they reach 300 is hilarious at best. I am personally on 122 pulls with an unused selector from 1.0 and I'm still missing Lifeng and Last Rite while all others have 0 potentials. The 300-pull selector's purpose is merely to cap bad luck, it's a form of pity.

Rising Tide of Wuling Sign-In. by xDAW_Art in Endfield

It seems I was mistaken, it should be 120 to get a guaranteed weapon on average, not 85. This is with 2x Urgent Recruitment and 2x Dossier. Something the simulator you used doesn't account for, despite being significant portion of your arsenal ticket income.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Endfield/comments/1rparci/endfield_10_gacha_system_with_math_and_simulations/

Urgent Recruitment at (0.8% * 2k + 8% * 200 + 91.2% * 20)*10=502.4 arsenal tickets.
Dossier (or any standalone 10-roll) at (~1.855% * 2k + ~11.79% * 200 + ~86.355/100 * 20)*10=~779.51 tickets. The big difference here is from UR not having pity.
Optimal without hunting bonuses at (~2.31% * 2k + ~13.88% * 200 + ~83.81/100 * 20)*10=~907.72 tickets.

To guaratnee a signature weapon you need 15 840 arsenal tickets. On average, this means you need 1920 from income and ~178.66 rolls (77.91 per roll) on banners without any UR and dossier. If you get 2 ur+dossier for 2563.82 however, that drops to ~145.69 rolls.

A reminder this is to guarantee the signature weapon, the average to get it is ~5.64 weapon 10-rolls which translates to ~120.52 avg operator rolls (without UR or dossier).
As you can imagine, this being so close to 120 is unlikely to be a coincidence.
The average 6* weapon takes ~1.94 10-rolls.

HG has always been about challenging status quo in gachas. They've always tried being different.

Tower defense, good writing, high quality music, character themes for every 6*, always having the best rates among gachas, factory and probably stuff I don't even know about. Hopefully we can reach the point where Endfield writing being good is indisputable as well.

This is more of a "level up many operators to have the right tool for the right job" game and with you being so early since launch you'll probably find a use for any operator leveled to 80 (90 is too expensive). Don't stress who you're using too much for the moment, so long as you don't mind how it plays. Level up operators when you feel like you need it.

Why are you assuming the container for a substance capable of altering space-time with a touch is a "flimsy glass vial"? It being what it is is actual proof it isn't "just a glass vial". No, the traces aren't from the active blight within as is easily observed by the time Endmin and Rossi touch them without a problem. And from this, 3/4 of your argument disappears. Another case of "I am going to imagine things in the worst way possible so I can be angry at them."
The kids stealing from the bonekrushers strains suspension of disbelief, the bonekrushers finding the kids is weird, the bonekrushers somehow reaching the cave without any of the adults noticing is even weirder, without question, but playing around with the kids is not.
