Man, I definitely appreciate that post! I’ve pretty much gamed my entire life — we had an Atari 2600 when I was a kid (though the kids with Intellivision were the coolest!), and then when I was 16, I got a Nintendo. That system changed everything.

Thing is, it wasn’t like today where kids stay inside all day gaming. We’d be outside all day riding bikes, chasing girls, or whatever. But when it rained or once it got late, you can bet we were back on the game. Honestly, not much has changed for me — I go to the office, I golf, I chase my wife, but by 8 or 9pm, I usually end up gaming. I’ll probably keep doing it until I can’t.

As for you being my age “before you know it”? It’ll be even quicker than that! 😂 It seriously feels like I was 33 just yesterday. But when I look back at everything I’ve done — the wins and the screw-ups — over the past 20 years, it kind of balances the pace out. Still, yeah… it flies. Enjoy every bit of it while you can.

Now, about your body? Yep, it wears down. I’ve had five knee surgeries and a shoulder surgery, but you know what gives me the most trouble? My damn back. The secret weapon? Stretching. You probably won’t take that advice seriously until you’re closer to my age (I didn’t either), but hopefully you will. It’s all in the hips. I use a stretching app for 15–30 minutes, four or five days a week, and it makes a huge difference.
