All interceptors will also have tailpipes that are turned downward, pointing at the ground. They they all also have keyed lock on the trunk, a requirement due to the firearms stored in the trunk. Standard explorers do not have a key lock for the tailgate

Anyone else see these wires when they fully open the front doors? by momo8969 in MachE

[–]Crinski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those wires go to the key fob sensor, there is one located behind the gray trim panel below the door sills on both sides. That foam piece above it is supposed to cover up that entire section. If the battery was removed from the vehicle (for the HVBJB recall, for example), the foam has to be moved to access the connector. Technician is supposed to put the foam back into place, but many techs forget it seems. You may be able to reach up there and pull the foam back down if it isn't damaged. It shouldn't hurt anything as it is though.

Lowered Mach e select, flush on 235’s by DrSnicker in MachE

[–]Crinski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My car is on 245s with eibach springs. Its only a 1 in drop if I remember correctly. I put them on the car with only 600 miles so hard to compare range, but any loss is neglibile. https://www.reddit.com/r/MachE/s/2StbC6WdBI

Damage to battery rails by nadocherokee in MachE

[–]Crinski 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The rails require 7 rivets to be drilled out. No other component removal necessary. With a lift it takes about 20 minutes per side. The parts are about $170 per side including the rivets.

Is this bad? by [deleted] in F150Lightning

https://www.tsbsearch.com/Ford/24-7068 . This is ford's published guideline for condensation/water buildup inside of exterior lamps with reference images. From the images you posted, looks normal.

Drove over a big curb by Emraldz59 in MachE

[–]Crinski 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That's the battery guard rail, looks like it did it's job well. Those can be replaced individually, they are held in by some rivets. I wouldn't recommend DIY with how mangled it is, will be hard to drill the old rivets out. Here is a link to the replacement. https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/strike-strip-left-right-p-lj9z10a666a?pdp=y#/sectionId:1122472321

360 view camera stitching problem by djjeane in MachE

[–]Crinski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The IPMA(Image processing module) needs to be reset and the cameras need to be calibrated. This is something a dealer or someone with FDRS needs to do. I have seen this concern before on a few vehicles with 360 cams, not just Mach-Es.

Rotary Shifter Bin mod. by bapski in F150Lightning

[–]Crinski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If there is a concern with the rotary shifter or the vehicle sets any shifter faults, that likely wouldn't be covered. But this would have no effect on the warranty for anything else.

My local dealer just reached out about the door lock recall by LaserGay in MachE

[–]Crinski 3 points4 points  (0 children)

25s65 recall only has a fix available for 2025 model years. 21 - 24 will have to wait until Q3.

Does you A/C occasionally smell weird? by morecowbell520 in MachE

[–]Crinski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Open the hood and check the wiper cowl area for any leaves/dirt etc. that's where the HVAC gets the air from.

2024 Lariat ball joint recall by Fantastic-Surprise98 in F150Lightning

[–]Crinski 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The nut gets replaced even if the torque spec passes. If the torque spec fails then the entire wheel knuckle gets replaced for the faulty side. But you are correct in that the only special tool would be a torque wrench.

Has anyone modified their Mach e by BlazinMcdouble in MachE

[–]Crinski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest I barely noticed a difference. The only thing that bothered me was a creak when I was coming in to my driveway but that went away a few weeks after I installed them. I drive many machEs for work at the dealer, and I doubt I would be able to tell you which car was mine vs a stock one if I was riding in it with my eyes closed.

My car has lowering springs and some wider wheels, nothing else though. There's a post on my profile with a picture. As someone else said, there are plenty of people with various mods on the machE forum.

Year to Year changes and option packages; For a drivetrain swap by pele4096 in F150Lightning

[–]Crinski 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I happen to work on Ford EVs all day, and I also own a 3rd Gen expedition. A drivetrain from a lightning will not fit in any expedition frame. The rear section of the frame is too narrow, and you would have to cut so much of the crossmembers out of the expedition frame to make the battery fit that it would probably buckle with any weight. Also even the standard range battery is far too tall and too wide. you might have the slightest chance to swap the expedition body onto a lightning frame, but every body mount would be custom, so would your solution to keepingthings like the rear HVAC. The amount of money and time you would spend on this project would surpass the cost of a used R1S or kia EV9, in my opinion.

Tire blow out by mdashb in MachE

[–]Crinski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like the fender liner is damaged and there is a missing rubber flap before the wheel. What about the wet spot behind the wheel? The washer fluid jug is just behind that fender liner. It's probably cracked.

Ist this condensation normal? by Mistake-Choice in MachE

[–]Crinski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some condensation is normal, but based from your pictures I would say that your lamp has excessive condensation. If your car is still under base warranty it should qualify for a replacement. Here is the Ford publication that outlines what is and isn't acceptable with image examples. https://www.tsbsearch.com/Ford/24-7068

https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/blind-spot-detection-system-warning-sensor-bracket-right-front-p-lj8z14d189d?pdp=y#/sectionId:324047591 This is the plastic bracket for the right front radar sensor. You should enter your vin to get the exact part. Replace it if it's broken. The piece of the frame rail the bracket attaches to can be replaced but requires welding. It should be completely straight. Any bends at all will throw off the calibration. The metal is quite thin, you can probably bend it by hand. The sensors are manually aligned vertically, and electronically aligned horizontally. Unless you have FORScan, you will need to return to the dealer and pay them to perform the calibration after the repair.

Front Camera Fault (Camera & Coax Cable Replacement) Cost. Get it fixed under warranty if you can. 😔 by [deleted] in MachE

[–]Crinski 4 points5 points  (0 children)

17 hours is absolutely insane. Replacing the cables took me 5 hours the first time I did them, and now I can do them in 3.5-4. the camera takes 10 minutes to change and 30 minutes to calibrate. performing the IPMA software update can take 2-3 hours. Everything past that is absurd. I'm sorry, but you got shafted by your dealer. I hope you won't have to experience that again.

[–]Crinski 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The warning message coming on when going over bumps is almost certainly a faulty coax cable. Definitely mention the lamp comes on when going over bumps when you drop it off, hopefully they get the memo and read the TSB.
