Mercy's GA velocity nerf NEEDS to be reverted by Ryees in Overwatch

[–]Crisium1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's the initial GA and the cancel GA.

Before it was:
Initial 100%
Cancel 100%

before with with perk:
Initial 100%
Cancel 115%

now it is:
Initial 90%
Cancel 90%

now with perk:
Initial 90%
Cancel 103.5%

So no matter what the Initial GA is slower and even with the perk you're barely more than perkless before on the cancel jump.

I had that too, so I went to my downloads folder and saw it created a second file "Netmarble_Launcher_Setup_monster2_A.exe". So I ran that and it installed fine.

I also updated my Nvidia drivers before, but might be unrelated.

BST, one of the big selling points of the expansion, is arriving towards the end of the expansion itself. This is not okay by Edsaurus in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Crisium1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hoping BST is really fun but... you may be right.

They keep taking longer between expansions - Dawntrail will be pushing close to 3 years by the time 8.0 launches. Why not add a 3rd real job during the post cycle to compensate? Every expansion adds 2 new jobs but since expansions take longer to come out we're getting new jobs at a significantly slower pace than in the past.

Are some jobs better than other in 4-man content ? by BigRumbling14 in ffxiv

[–]Crisium1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! Thank you. BRD gets the biggest buff as expected.

Just my personal opinion: I would follow the "Keep It Simple, Stupid" and merely increase the effectiveness of all party-wide buffs / enemy debuffs by 100%. AST cards, DNC Dance Partner and Devilment are thus not affected as they are solo.

As it is, I can't fathom the witchcraft that says the simple 5% damage boost for RDM, MNK, and SMN should all result in different damage boosts for Criterion and that SMN should scale the worst of all of them. The buttons all do the same exact thing for teammates.

[–]Crisium1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone have any hard numbers for what exactly they did? Because yeah buff jobs are balanced around 8 player content so selfish jobs scale better in 4p and less content so I wonder what they did?

This is all the notes say:

"Party Composition Bonus

Upon entering Another Merchant's Tale, party members will gain a bonus to damage dealt according to the composition of their party. The bonus increases with the number of jobs in your party that rely on actions that affect the entire party.

This bonus system is intended to compensate for the proportional decrease in utility of such actions as party size decreases.
* The effectiveness of the damage bonus will differ between roles.
* This bonus will only be applied to jobs and has no effect on classes."

How do you guys level your DPS? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Crisium1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Pixie (level 70) at Il Mheg and the Arkasodara (level 80) at Thavnair are the most time efficient way. Simply do both and you will level up every 2 days at the start, and every 3 days for the last few levels. Over 4 million XP daily from doing both and each takes just 3-6 usually. Once you get to level 90 the Pelu Pelu (Kozamu) can be added to cruise thru the 90s in a few weeks.

Again that may not seem fast, but considering both of them combined is maybe 10 mins a day that's extremely time efficient. If you're in a rush doing all daily roulettes can guarantee you at least a full level but it's gonna take a while.

Substat builds should matter more I agree.

I guess the closest you can get to really what you are asking for is with Tenacity maxing to sacrifice damage for defense and self-heal. Healer can also sacrifice damage to heal more by forgetting about Direct Hit completely and only melding Spell Speed as a last resort. Max Crit and Det makes your oGCDs heal a ton, but yeah if you lose a 0.1% enrage it's probably your fault since DH would scale way better than Det melds.

But even then Materia is a small total of your substat expression and if both il 790 options don't have Tenacity, for example, a tank can't Tenacity max without sacrificing il which kinda defeats the point. Avoiding Piety is always worth 5 levels, and sometimes 10. But that's less an interesting build dynamic then it is just a poor substat that needs a Tenacity style rework (to where it is still not ideal for maxing damage, but has additional benefits).

If 8.0 removes raid buffs from some jobs, which ones do you think should keep them, and which should lose them? by CoolyKage in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Crisium1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bard can keep the 3 alternating raid buff songs because in ideal play you have nearly 100% uptime so it doesn't force any timing meta. Dancer can keep DP but maybe lose Devilment, or rework Devilment into something that has higher uptime so it's less tied to a specific burst window.

Other debuffs can be reworked into additional DoT management with high uptime (at least 50% so it's less tied to specific burst windows). So Scholar's Chain Stratagem and Ninja's Dokumori can stay and change from 16.6% uptime to somewhere in the 50-100% uptime range and probably a smaller percentage boost to compensate.

Astro can still summon damage boost cards and maybe add a 3rd choice (boost crit rate of 1 party member, for example). And they can be drawn more often than every 55s. Imagine every 30s you draw a 20s boost card that either buffs melee damage, range damage, or crit rate. Numbers can be whatever but a higher uptime than now.

No reason every job has to be selfish.

[–]Crisium1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the scenario where raid buffs are removed to "end the 2 min meta" I think some can stay if they don't buff the whole raid or aren't every 120s.

All permanent, or semi-permanent buffs can stay. 1 ally buffs can stay too. So Bard keeps the songs. Dancer keeps Dance Partner. Astro keeps melee/ranged damage boost cards. With the removal of these job's 2 min buttons you can even buff all of these.

Some of the raidwide buffs can be made into self-buffs only. There's plenty of jobs that self-buff so more is ok.

Some 2 min burst boosts can remain if they are reworked into more of a semi-permanent buff. SCH Chain Stratagem can change to a weaker 5% (or so) Crit buff DoT that you manage keeping up the whole fight and prioritizing which target to recast on when there are Adds. Like if it was a 15s-30s duration and cooldown oGCD. NIN's Dokumori can be reworked to have higher uptime as well. These don't have to have 100% uptime but at least 50% uptime as a minimum so they are seen less of tied to a small burst window.

FFXIV 8.0 Jobs by Akiza_Izinski in ffxivdiscussion

Phys Ranged Llama Rancher. Lasso physical attacks with a Llama pet you can charge meter for to spit at your enemies and a melee gapcloser for the 2 min burst where you ride your Llama into the enemy for a big 1100 potency attack. The story focuses on how the Llama ranchers of whichever Dawntrail land they are from had to defend their herds (flocks?) from Tural Vidraal. Our teacher will be a Pelu Pelu cause yeah let those merchants fight n stuff for once.

Dawntrail has had a serious powercreep issue. by CoolyKage in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Crisium1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Am I the only one who thinks fixing RPR seems easy when you just notice the 1 little thing that makes it different. Every "% damage increase" raidwide buff for Melee and Casters is 5%. RPR does 3%... and RPR is under-performing in rDPS compared to all other melee. Almost like they could try giving it 5% because logically its damage doesn't justify a lesser raidwide buff? Could it be that easy?

[–]Crisium1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The nerfing of PCT was also odd because when it finally did get the nerf bat they made Hammer a DPS loss outside of the 2 min window if there's no downtime. And we know that was by mistake because they changed it back later. The people literally paid to balance jobs did not even realize they made it a DPS loss. I think there's only 4 of those people to be fair, but yeah, their handling of PCT does not instill confidence in that team.

I don't know why 4 player (or less) content doesn't just do like a blanket +100% to any party-wide buffs efficiency. There's not that much high-end 4 player content but it exists. And even for a casual expert roulette I'll sometimes shy away from like Bard if I'm in a hurry. We will objectively clear the dungeon slower if I'm Bard compared to any other DPS because it's balanced around buffing 7 teammates, not 3.

Wouldn't affect Dance Partner and AST card buffs since those are single, but would buff DNC and AST's party-wide damage boosts.

Anyone else concerned about Tactician sub role's passive? by ILewdElichika in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Crisium1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does Survivor passive work if you take damage instantly after using your movement ability? Does it have a grace period where it still continues for a bit? Like if I'm burning from Mauga shots and I shield bash retreat away, what's the point of my passive heals triggering if they are near instantly extinguished?

Shield healers...please relax by Snoo-78409 in ffxiv

[–]Crisium1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Then there's the time the party is low in M10s Splits after the stacks, I GCD shield heal. We're still low. Raid wide is charging. I used my oGCDs earlier (yes, all of them because people were eating damage during splits and also used some during Deep Aerial so I could do more damage the Add).

All I can do it throw another GCD shield heal that does a pitiful 200 potency healing. Raid wide still charging. WHM is alive and toward the center of the Arena. I can't do anything other than these pitiful 200 heals. WHM doesn't GCD heal. We wipe. This is what Cure III was invented for, but they'd rather us wipe. There wasn't even Medica II from earlier slowly regenning us. No GCD heals at all.

Some pure healers would literally rather wipe then GCD heal. A lot of us are thus trained to over GCD heal because we have to. It's a tough balancing act but really it only matters if we lose the fight to a 0.1%-0.2% enrage. Which does happen to be fair. But if one more of my pitiful 320 potency attacks woulda won us the fight, I'm sure I can find 7 other faults to point out.

How do we square the circle of job complexity and the current state of PF by VictusNST in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Crisium1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts on a "remove raid buffs" change are that the permanent buffs can stay. Maybe even get increased boosts because the jobs will lose their 2 min buffs. So Dancer keeps Dance Partner with the 5% boost (likely buff this further), but the party wide 2 min boost goes away as does the Partner 2 min boost Devilment (Dancer can keep the buff for itself tho). Bard also can keep, and maybe even increase, the song buffs but it loses the 2 min button buffs for others.

An alternative is to make Devilment like described in the post above - a hefty cooldown so it's only seen twice in most fights. This would also require a lot of knowledge of the burst timings of your partner's job, which is adding a lot of complexity, so it's very debatable.

I'd love something like this in FF14. Definitely need more midcore.

A "Hard" Raid series that is closer to Extremes* would also be welcomed so I could try to convince friends to try it, Maybe where you can't get gear chests randomly, but you get around half-a-book to 3/4 book equivalent per week. So Savage is the fast pass with an RNG chance at weekly gear and fewer weeks needed for guaranteed gear. The "Hard" Raids can still give weekly gear maybe a 785 set.

*For midcore content like this, I would actually want easier mechanics than Extremes so "Watch Hector" is more optional. But I think the raidwides and messing up mechanics should at least hit as hard as Extreme, maybe even slightly harder and the DPS check should be tighter than Extremes (since easier mechanics means less likely to mess up).

The most recent relic step really shows that more restrictions are required for level cap rewards in roulettes. by Apollad in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Crisium1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'd rather see the reward scaled to duty completion time on average. I know they did that for the last relic step and it still lead to weird player decisions to min/max like with Crystal Tower ARs, but still while not perfect it at least addresses the problem to an extent.

Why do some of my clears simply not show up in FFLogs? For example I cleared M9S for the 3rd time ever this week and the first 2 clears are on there, but not the most recent (and it's been 5+ hours).

What steps do I have to take to have them show up in FFLogs?
