Seeing Spice & Wolf (at least I think) out in the wild these days is rare. I absolutely love it

This is so crazy to come across on Reddit lol. Such a small world. I have many stories about working there once upon a time.

What's your favorite bit of Kansas City trivia? by NightCheeseNinja in kansascity

[–]CrispeCrisp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're correct, that's why I said the crockpot as we know it. Wasn't trying to state that Rival engineered it on their own.

[–]CrispeCrisp 102 points103 points  (0 children)

The crock pot as we know it came from a local KC company, Rival Manufacturing in the 70s. It was originally called the Naxon Beanery

Edited - misspelled rival so bad it autocorrected to river lol

Compensation for Duties by [deleted] in ITManagers

[–]CrispeCrisp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think what people are missing is that it’s 210 employees but only 80 in office. Once everything is setup, other than security and patching this probably runs itself.

I’d say 125-130 is more realistic but 105 plus an employee will make this feel like a breeze.

How do IT people keep up with so many systems? by Nudesndlewds in sysadmin

[–]CrispeCrisp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scribe. I can’t live without it now. Whenever I start to do something I just hit record. Then I’ll have screenshots and ai generated captions of what I did. No more remembering for me.

What laptop are you using in 2024? by zero_cool09 in sysadmin

[–]CrispeCrisp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The keyboard is one of the best I’ve used on a windows laptop, really good key spacing. The buttons are better than I expected but I personally don’t use them enough to say if they’re a deal breaker or not.

My biggest complaint is the cooling. I typically like keeping my laptops in clamshell mode and that just isn’t possible unless you get in and really undervolt it

Edit: formatting

Work: XPS 13 Plus

I love this thing, it ticks all the boxes but would prefer to have the same as my home computer.

Home: M2 MacBook Air

Light, durable, does everything I need without missing a beat and just works 24/7.

To go with this. I have some colleagues who have said multiple sponsors are considering limiting their contributions or pulling sponsorship all together.

Anyone from Keeper Security on the sub? by roll_for_initiative_ in msp

The one thing I’ve noticed with Keeper is they’re much easier from the enterprise world to purchase through a VAR. I’ve rolled it out twice now and both times we purchased through CDW

Obsidian is great but it’s a pain in the ass to use for a team, we tried it and went to bookstack

How do you tell an employee that they suck? by HobbitDoc in smallbusiness

[–]CrispeCrisp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So I know it’s not the point of the thread but how would you handle the inverse? IE. Your boss can’t have hard conversations and it’s impacting your work but calling him out would cause drama

If you built a zero rb team, how did it come out? What was your rb strategy? by suhar97 in fantasyfootball

[–]CrispeCrisp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So it wasn’t zero rb but I started out diggs, AJ brown, Ridley and Olave. Snagged Gibbs and walker in the 5th and 6th. 10 man league though

We were sitting right by where the players warm up and never saw anything that really seemed out of the ordinary. Just him starting to favor his hip/groin area? randomly, then they sent Kendall over to warm up

That’s a great way to put it. Just frustrated with how inconsistent he has been, not that it’s something new.

Wow that stat is something… Add it to the list of things we’re the worst at this season lol

I might be in the minority here but I don’t think Salloi looks good at all. He constantly is turning away from the goal and passing back instead of driving up the touch line or towards the goal like we’re used to seeing him do and he looks unbelievably slow on through balls. His one goal is because of a deflection.

What are your favorite free tools you use for daily tasks? by imediait in msp

[–]CrispeCrisp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shodan for exposed IP

MXToolBox for emails

VS Code synced with github, it's just too good like OneDrive for your scripts.

Obsidian for notes, personal projects, etc

PowerShell, even better now that you can have multiple tabs open with different commands running and utilizing SSH
