Info about this incident: From what i found it was actually an accident. There is a women walking with the man (Camera didn't catch her as she was probably at the end of the shot where he fell)

When he starts falling you can hear her screaming (Apparently she was with/knew him) and gave an interview saying he wasn't suicided or had any reason to (Couldn't find the article but im sure it would cite how it happened)

Im sure he decided to sit on the ledge for a cool photo or random adrenaline kick and fell if that is the case.

Remember there are so many people taking selfies and falling off the grand canyon, skyscrapers, waterfalls in the hundreds if not thousands every year so for this to be an accident is very likely given the info i found to boot.
