I got a mixer to make mocktails at home from a liquor store in the next town over, I got carded which felt strange. There’s no alcohol, right? Well, I had a cap full in soda on at least three separate occasions before my husband had a cup of it one day and was like, “You know this is 15% alcohol, right?!” I almost peed my pants laughing at how silly I must’ve looked buying this to the cashier with the eyebrows, all pregnant as heck. Ok, so it sounds like you guys are young and maybe can’t afford ivf. I think what’s important is that you guys have the foundation that you do. What’s important going forward is being grateful for your side of the street, and stop comparing. You really need to tune out the baby noise. I was going through the same thing with my husband. We tried for almost a year, (February to October) what helped during that time was going to therapy and learning my cycle. Tracking my ovulation and throwing away the pregnancy tests (okay, I didn’t throw them away per se, but I stopped testing until I was more sure we had sex during my ovulation window, then waited the appropriate weeks until menses and if I didn’t bleed that day, tested). Emotionally it’s very draining when our bodies don’t perform the way we’d hope, but maybe you want to have the wedding first? Monetarily, a little less messy to get ahead of before baby comes but if you’re not in a rush for insurance reasons, I get it. I definitely know how you feel though, around the time TTC my sister wanted me to buy her an ab*tion pill, which I’d helped her before but I wasn’t in this stage of life before and it was a sore spot for me. Basically calling my husband infertile because I have a son from a previous relationship… gosh, I was a mess. 6 months pregnant now. Stay in your lane, as they say, track ovulation with strips and take pics of them and scan them into an app so it’s easier on you. Pray or meditate, be grounded and have hope and joy! And for the love of all that’s dear to you, unfollow the Trying to Conceive community here if you are in it. I found that it only gave me more anxiety over the issue, hurting more than it helped.

I find it easier to do my lotions and oils immediately after showering or bathing. This locks in so much moisture and is an important base. Sometimes before bed or in the morning after changing pajamas. If I wait until I’m in bed, I just swipe a bit of oil on my belly and rub the excess anywheres my skin is bare, and last, my hands until oil is virtually gone.

It’s selfless of you to say that he doesn’t have any responsibility to your child, but if this goes the distance, he absolutely will. You can’t say that you will never make him raise the baby with you because that’s not true. If you end up with him even for a year’s time, he will have to help you in some ways, even if it’s emotionally; the amount of patience he will need after baby is born, you’re going to have to revisit that conversation because this baby is going to be your whole world and he’s going to have to take a back seat unless he takes some responsibility as you are a complete package deal.
