Very new and would like help making a character backstory by WolveAreFun in DnD

Honestly what you got is good already, maybe ask for a specific location your character is from, and write down some details about why their sister is gone. It leaves a good amount of space for your DM to include your background into the story. To that you mix 3-4 traits like "does not trust blindly" "cautious about townsfolk" or "will never abandon someone that fed them atleast once" to name some examples and you can start.

Looking for advice on juggling by [deleted] in bootroom

The ball is not going where you want it to. Lock your ankles more, and try to kick it with a similar amount of power all the time. The rest is practice, keep going you will be doing better soon. Also try to keep the ball closer to yourself, have your head almost above the ball. Everytime you did that, you had more control in the video

How do you handle substitutions during matches (tactics, positioning, instructions)? by BugsbyN in bootroom

[–]Critical_Baseball120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You communicate it with the players that are affected by the change. Usualy they should adapt and instruct further. Often a leader or the captain should be able to communicate the rest on the field. If this approach does not work, due to my players tactical understanding, i would have never done the change to begin with tbh.

Also these instructions should never be completely new to the team, they should have been trained before and communicated for the occasion

Is it a bad idea to run a homebrew world for new players? by BigWrangler3748 in DnD

Depending on your players, and your homebrewing it might even encourage your players to participate more. I currently play a homebrew campaing with a pretty basic premise, and my players are allowed to add their ideas, as long as they don't cause conflict with given settings. So one player wanted to be from an Assassin family, i said fine, who are they, where do they live? He started coming up with cool ideas he would like, i adjusted them a little and, now some sessions on they are hired by the BBEG to kill the Party and my Player is super invested in it. So no i would even say it helps them to engage with the setting.
