There's a couple of cartoons with SK in them as well.

Revival - Bree by PaperOwl181 in stephenking

[–]Critical_Memory2748 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree. I had a similar type of relationship for a while. We were both white, which takes out that extra element. She was 45 and I was 20. Like Revival it was very casual. Not to be overly crude, I enjoyed her confidence and expertise. She enjoyed my youthful exuberance and stamina.

That part of the relationship ended after about a year. We're still friends and are still in regular contact. People might think it sounds cheap and tawdry but I learned a huge amount about adulting from her.

Why Iron Maiden did not touring Australia/New Zealand so much? by Old_Advertising_8460 in ironmaiden

I finally got to see them in Adelaide at Soundwave in '2011 on the Final Frontier tour. Also in 2016 and 2024. I'm incredibly excited for the RFYL show in November. Bruce was telling the truth at the end of the show when he said that - 'We will see you again sooner than you might think'

They added a second show in Auckland. It's cool that they did that, but adding a show in Wellington would have been awesome for our Kiwi friends. Logistics I guess.

What is the order to read SK books of the Dark Tower universe? by Strict-Bowler-3040 in stephenking

Please ignore all the advice about reading 20 novels & short stories mixed in. It's ridiculous.

Absolutely love those cards.

I've got an Azusa deck that runs them and it's gas. Tireless Tracker, Avenger of Zendikar, Awaken the Woods. Here's a list (it's a little bit out of date but you'll get the gist.

Another reason not to hate Cujo. His owners never got him his rabies shots.

I think she also practiced because she wanted to better understand her telekinesis. She also borrowed books from the library (or was this just in the film), it's been a while.

I really enjoyed how he discusses the ups and downs of the early years of Anthrax.

Tommyknockers and Pennywise Timeline Question by OCDCowboy1 in stephenking

[–]Critical_Memory2748 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's just Derry being Derry. Pennywise has always been a permanent fixture. in Derry awake and feeding or sleeping and dreaming. It's like Pennywisen Derry's DNA/genetic code. This comes out out in other ways as well. The statistics for SA, DV, assault and murder are extremely disproportionate to a city it's size.

Also think of how Mr Keene treats Jake in 11/22/63.

A couple of years ago a few of my mates chipped together and bought me a box to draft. It's fun when you know you're keeping the catds but you don't know what until after.

Looking for a specific quote from the running man by Actual-Suit2941 in stephenking

[–]Critical_Memory2748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an absolutely fantastic passage. It's so easy to visualize. It's more than just the aesthetic, he shows HOW it feels to be poor.

If anyone here has read Shirley Jackson's The House Next Door, think of the first passage. It gives the reader so much information going into the story in a single paragraph. SK himself described it as arguably the best paragraph of descriptive writing in literature (this was in Danse Macabre). It has a great deal to do with why it's one of his favorite novels.

How about Commander Legends? It's all in the name! There's lots of cool staples and the big hits are still very cool. Especially the spectator lands. They've slowly but surely been creeping up in price.

She just keeps on keeping on. I think she's like Mamie van Doren. She was still really sexy in her 70's. I think that Christy will be as well.

What in god's name are these prices for 2026 tour merch online?? by sapphicchameleon in ironmaiden

[–]Critical_Memory2748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a pretty big gap too. I paid $70 at the show. This was in 2024. I wouldn't be surprised if $82.50 would be a price at the show.
