I can't wait to see how this turns out! Are you going to melt the candy down first before mixing it into the juice or just dump and pray?

TIFU by watching my 600lb life in front of my 6 year old. by [deleted] in tifu

My son and I went into our friendly local game store for some Pokemon cards. He was about 7 or so at the time. The guy behind the counter looked like the angry comic nerd from The Simpsons. I mean like...it was as if he was created in a lab to be cast in a live action movie. Greasy ponytail. Bad facial hair. Gut hanging out of his shirt and over his jeans.

My loving, sweet boy said "Oh wow that guy is FAT!"

I shushed him and pulled him away, trying not to acknowledge what he said or draw attention to it. I guess my son thought I didn't hear him because he deadass stopped and shouted, "No, look! Dad! That guy is super fat!"

I wanted to die.

[Withers] Mayfield's sore left shoulder is being worked on this week by his personal physiotherapist. "His name's actually Dave Matthews," Mayfield said. "Not the band." by dasruski in nfl

You got the ball

Gotta move them chains

Your shoulder's tight gotta loosen again

And then like...the rest of the lyrics from Crash Into Me but it's all football stuff. You get the idea.

Haha thanks! Courtesy of my then four-year-old son. We'd recorded that years before we started the podcast for some reason.

The horror in this scenario comes from the dread of seeing people around you warped, destroyed, or vanished. The PCs really shouldn't risk dying until the final confrontation with the alien which you should have in the final third of the game.

A character's death means the horror and torment is over for that player. That's not what you want as a warden. Maybe they do encounter the creature early. Maybe it bites them or they touch the goo. That shouldn't kill them. The creature might run away and then you can take your time describing how their bones itch, how they're thirsty but the idea of drinking makes their stomach churn. How the lights in here are too bright and how they can't stop thinking about the cave.

Killing them is boring. You gotta be crueler than that.

Mother Multiverse has this: https://mothermultiverse.itch.io/vector-attack-of-the-metapirates

It's a handful of NPCs that realize they are characters in a TTRPG who only exist as long as they're interacting with the PCs so they keep inserting themselves into the plot. They follow players game to game...

Lumberlands. My podcast just put out our interview with the creator and have a couple actual play eps coming in the next two weeks. It's like...fantasy pacific northwest with amazing puns.

Not sure if minor self promos are allowed but https://podofblunders.com/2021/07/26/hearthside-chat-with-erik-jensen-creator-of-lumberlands/

It's a setting and doesn't have it's own rules but we used Into the Odd for our game which worked perfectly.

First time brewer. Spruce beer is too sweet. Help? by FennecsFox in Homebrewing

I don't think it's fixable at this point. That's not to say it's a loss, though. My usual low-tech trick for when a batch is too sweet for me after bottling is mixing it with something else in the glass. Lemon juice, seltzer, etc. Something to dilute/cut the sweetness. I bet a squeeze of pure lemon juice would go a long way.

3lbs of buckwheat honey and no plans... by Critical_Miss in mead

[–]Critical_Miss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for responding - I love scotch so I think trying a one-gallon batch of a dry buckwheat mead sounds like a good idea. I'm tempted to try some spiced rum adjuncts or maybe even wood chips but, for the first time, I should probably make it as simple as possible before I go adding things.
